Fans of Michael Jackson were eagerly waiting for Michael before the film premiered in theaters on April 24, 2026. The film, which explores the early life and then career of the legendary singer-songwriter, became a global box office hit and has exceeded the expectations of fans.

Michael Jackson biopic streaming release: date, time, and more

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael was released in theaters on April 24, 2026. Through the film, viewers got to see how Michael Jackson was raised, what his family was like, the initial years of his career in the Jackson 5, and then his solo career. Jackson's nephew, Jafaar Jackson, played him in the biopic, and his resemblance to his uncle in the film is uncanny. Jafaar made sure he not only looked the part but also sounded like him too.

It is safe to say that the film has been a success. At the time of writing this article, the film has crossed $860 million in global box office revenue. Even if you could not go to watch the film in the theaters, or want to relive the experience of watching the film, you can do so now because the film is going to be available on streaming services soon.

The film won't be available for regular streaming like many titles are. According to Forbes, Michael will be available for purchase and rent on video-on-demand streaming services. The film will be available for video-on-demand on Fandango at Home, Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube Movies & TV on June 9, 2026.

You don't need to have a subscription to any of these platforms. All you need to do is visit the app or website and rent or buy the film. If you rent the film, you will get access to the film for approximately 30 days, but if you begin watching the film, you have only 48-72 hours to finish watching it. Buying it gives you unlimited access to the film indefinitely until the platform has the license rights to host the film on their platform.

You will be able to buy Michael from Fandango at Home, Prime Video, Apple TV, or YouTube Movies & TV from June 9, 2026, by paying $24.99. To rent the film from any of these platforms, you would have to pay $19.99. For the forseeable future, the film will be available only as video-on-demand. It might be available for regular streaming (subscription-based) in the future, but no news of that sort has surfaced yet. Stay tuned for more updates.


The film also stars Nia Long, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Juliano Valdi, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo, among others. Lionsgate Films, Optimum Productions, and GK Films are the companies behind the film.
