The Drama, which was produced by A24 and stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, was released on April 3, 2026. Many people were already talking about this movie prior to being released. The story itself revolves around a couple who are engaged, and within days before their wedding, their relationship begins to deteriorate after one of them receives something they did not expect to hear during a dinner with their friends. The movie was written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli.

The actual story has been creating a lot of excitement among the viewers; many individuals have been searching for the locations where the actual filming of the movie took place. All the locations within The Drama appear to be beautiful and appear as actual lived-in locations rather than set for the purpose of filming.

Production of the film initially began in the U.K before shifting to the U.S, with Boston, Massachusetts, as the main production site. Other locations like New York City, Los Angeles, as well as towns in Massachusetts (Andover) were also used for filming. All in all, this is quite a bit of land to travel, and it shows on screen with how different all the sections of the film look from scene to scene. Below is a detailed breakdown of all the locations where this movie was made.

The American filming locations that gave The Drama its look and feel

This film utilized Boston as the main setting for the entire film. Director Kristoffer Borgli was attracted to the older architecture in Boston as well as the walkable neighbourhoods in the city that suited his European style of filmmaking. The production team spent an extensive amount of time researching how the couple would live in Boston and where they would shop, eat dinner, have coffee and go out on dates.

Film shooting occurred in the Back Bay and Charlestown neighbourhoods by transforming them into film sets, including one of the first few scenes where Emma meets Charlie, which was at the Tatte Bakery and Cafe near Copley Square. In Downtown Boston, the production was seen filming important exterior scenes around the Bank of America building opposite South Station, High Street, Franklin Street and Federal Street. In the Fall of 2024, people of the city saw the production taking place all over the place, and some lucky people had a chance to see Zendaya and Pattinson filming outside.

A notable location for The Drama is Andy's Diner, an older establishment that serves breakfast and is situated in Cambridge. The production designer, Zosia Mackenzie, visited the diner and immediately felt that it was the correct location for use in the production of the film. She described it as if it had been preserved in a time capsule from the 1950s and 1960s, including brick walls and swivel barstools and vinyl seating booths, all of which were untouched and very local.

Andover, Massachusetts' Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy was presented in place of the fictional Cambridge Art Museum, where Charlie is employed. The Mansion on Turner Hill in Ipswich, built in 1904, was used for all of the wedding scenes. The Mansion at Turner Hill is a renowned luxury events location in Massachusetts and has well-preserved interiors, scenic grounds, and historic architecture, which gives wedding scenes a very majestic and cinematic appearance that matches the overall tone of the movie.

In the Southern part of the Country, New Orleans was used as a location in The Drama as well. It is estimated that the entire filming of the production in Louisiana took about three million dollars. The various distinct and popular public landmarks and structures that may be in the background of the scenes include St. Louis Cathedral, The French Quarter, Tulane University, The Crescent City Connection, and the Hancock Whitney Center.

Those Louisiana sequences are believed to cover Emma's earlier life before she moved to Boston, and the visual tone of those scenes is noticeably different from the cooler, more restrained look of the New England material.

The international filming locations that round out the story of The Drama

Outside of the United States, the filming of The Drama was also held internationally to broaden the overall visual representation of the film. Production started in the U.K, with London specifically being another global location included in the production process. London's famous landmarks and streets are predicted to appear as some of the scenes are filmed, but the specific locations of London have not yet been officially confirmed.

The production crew is reported to have travelled to Singapore, Tokyo and Paris as filming locations to provide some additional visual interest to the film. The fact that the production incorporates international locations in the narrative makes it seem much more expansive than just being about sort of two people in Boston with a relationship. It gives the audience a sense of the larger world in which these people operate.

The many varied locations, from the coffee shop in Boston to the magnificent mansions of Massachusetts, and from the streets of both Paris and London, all are places that have contributed to the realistic and visually attractive look of The Drama. The film, The Drama, is now being shown in movie theatres.
