Gary Woodland recently won the Texas Children's Houston Open, his first PGA Tour victory since the 2019 U.S. Open and his life-threatening brain surgery.
According to a BBC report, in September 2023, the U.S. golfer underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour that caused fear, anxiety and seizures. He revealed his PTSD diagnosis in early March 2026 during a Golf Channel interview ahead of The Players Championship, a year after receiving it privately.

Woodland shared his recent win with his wife, Gabby Woodland, who has been his backbone amidst his health struggles. Following his victory on the 18th green at Memorial Park, he embraced Gabby as tears flowed from his eyes.
They have been married since 2016, with reports citing their relationship since 2011. They are parents to three children – son Jaxson, and twin daughters Maddox and Lennox. The couple tragically lost Jaxson’s twin in 2017.

Gary Woodland’s wife, Gabby Woodland, has been instrumental in his recovery following his brain surgery. He has openly credited her for her resilience during his recovery and in his recent victory speech.
During a recent interview with the BBC, he called the ordeal tougher on her and said that it would not have been possible without her. Speaking after his win, he told the outlet:
“We play an individual sport but I wasn't alone today. I've got a lot of people behind me - my team, my family. Anybody that's struggling with something, I hope they see me and don't give up - just keep fighting.”

He continued, adding that he is proud of himself and he will keep healing and fighting. Speaking words of gratitude for his family, Gary Woodland said:
“Thank you to my family. I wouldn't be anywhere before this without them but there's no chance I could do this without Gabby.”
Gary Woodland tied the knot with his wife in October 2016 in a beach ceremony in Turks and Caicos. Gary has often called Gabby his rock and praised her support. He thanked her during his 2017 induction into the Topeka Sports Hall of Fame. However, Gabby kept the details of her private life under wraps.
A report in People magazine noted that she was a student at Baylor University. Although the couple never revealed how they met but they have been reported to be dating since 2011.
The couple was expecting twins in 2017 when they tragically lost one of them, a girl. Woodland referred to it as the most difficult year of his life. He told Golf Channel:
“This was the toughest year of my life by far. The little man has been dealing with a little bit of stuff, but it’s just never been easy.”
They welcomed their son Jaxson in 2017, who was born 10 weeks prematurely. Later in 2019, they gave birth to identical twin daughters, Maddox and Lennox.
