Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre, the former frontman of the band CDC, has passed away. According to a report in Vice, he was riding his Harley-Davidson before being hit by a car that was making a left-hand turn on September 9 in King of Prussia.

McIntyre joined CDC in 2005, during the band's early years. He performed with the group before initially departing in 2006. But he continued working with them and filling in over the span of eight years. After leaving CDC, McIntyre built a career in the music industry as a touring professional focused on management for various bands and acts.

A GoFundMe titled “Honor Kaelin McIntyre by Supporting Denise (Kaelsma)” described McIntyre’s mom as his “best friend,” and read:

“If there’s one thing anyone knows about Kaelin, it’s how much he loved his mother, Denise, or “Kaelsma.” He was her only child, and she was a single mom. They vacationed together multiple times a year, were joined at the hip, and were best friends.”

A GoFundMe has been established following the passing of Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre to provide support and “some financial freedom” to his single mother, Denise.

It added that McIntyre and his mom used to split bills, so there are no leftover financial or funeral expenses. The page then says:

“we would all love to give Denise some cushion, financial freedom, and the ability to grieve however she needs to. As she said to me, Kaelin was her home. We want her to be set up for success and comfort down the line.”

The fundraiser organized by Katherine Potter has raised more than $50,000 out of its goal of $100,000 USD. No funeral service will be organized for Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre; instead, there will be “a celebration of life at Gaul in Port Richmond on September 27th.”

CDC also shared a lengthy post on Facebook on Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre’s death. The band reminisced about the time when he joined the band on six days' notice and was “immediately thrown into the fire for our first coast-to-coast tour.”

They mulled over how McIntyre was someone who had an “animated larger than life personality,” and said:

“[He] was able to continue working in music long after his time in the band ended. He developed quite the career selling merch for many different bands and acts of all sizes and genres."

They said that Kaelin left an "unwavering mark" on the band and went on to remember him as "a road dawg, a hustler, but most of all a friend." The message said that it has been over a decade since the late artist worked with CDC but his impact could still be felt.

In the concluding statement, they wrote:

"His name is forever tied to CDC and that can never change.”

The band recalled traveling together with McIntyre from Pennsylvania to California, South Africa to Dubai, Japan to Madagascar and all over the US and Europe many times in their career.

CDC was a hardcore punk band formed in 2003 in the suburban Pennsylvania towns of Lansdale, Doylestown and Perkasie. They are known for a DIY approach, chaotic live shows, heavy grooves, and extensive international touring. In addition to McIntyre, the band included Brooke Swartz on vocals, John Bowes on drums, Brendan Hagey on guitar, and Sean Downing on bass.
