Oscar-winning actor Robert Duvall has died at the ripe old age of 95, and while he may have brought the curtain down on his legendary career as one of the most respected and accomplished actors in American cinematic history by starring in some of the biggest movies in American cinema history.

To those who knew him well, he will always be remembered as Bob, the man who had found his calling and his life outside of the spotlight.

The news of the death of the legendary American actor Robert Duvall has come as a shock to his fans and well-wishers around the world as his wife posted the news of his passing on Facebook. According to the Facebook post by his wife,

“Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.”

While he may have starred in some of the biggest movies in American cinema history and may have brought to life some of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, to his wife, he may have been very different from the character he portrayed as Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now and as the country singer in Tender Mercies and as the consiglieri in The Godfather and while he may have married his wife in 2005, he had met her in the late 1990s in Buenos Aires, although their initial meeting had not been very ordinary.

The couple also starred alongside each other. Pedraza starred alongside Duvall in Assassination Tango. The movie was one that Duvall wrote, directed, and starred in. The couple also shared a passion for tango dancing. Duvall and Pedraza also practiced tango dancing. The couple spent a lot of time outside of Hollywood on their Virginia estate.

The death of Duvall has seen many celebrate his illustrious career, which spanned over 60 years. Duvall received six Oscar nominations. He also received an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Tender Mercies. Robert Duvall is synonymous with roles that depict him as a controlled character. These are characters that depict power and tension. Duvall's illustrious career has seen him play many roles, including that of Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird. Robert Duvall also played the famous "napalm" speech in Apocalypse Now.

Robert Duvall's career has defined generations of filmmakers. Duvall has also acted in his eighties. The statement by Pedraza also reminds us that at the heart of all this is a couple who happen to be a husband and wife.
