Nick Bilton's hiring as the executive producer of 60 Minutes shocked everyone last week, as the tech journalist and filmmaker had no experience in broadcasting news. One of the earliest impacts of this development was felt this week as veteran Scott Pelley was fired when he pointed out that both Bilton and CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss lacked the necessary qualifications on Monday.

In response, Nick Bilton sent a letter to Scott Pelley on Tuesday, firing the latter. It read:

“Your antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear. And I have heard you. I therefore write on behalf of CBS News to inform you that your employment with CBS is terminated effective immediately.”

This move has shone a spotlight on Nick Bilton and his personal life, and people were shocked to learn about the unique life of his wife, Chrysta Bilton.

Nick Bilton's wife, Chrysta Bilton, explored amidst Scott Pelley's firing:

Nick Bilton's wife, Chrysta, shocked everyone with her autobiography in 2022, "Normal Family: On Truth, Love, and How I Met My 35 Siblings", as she revealed that she has 35 siblings. The well-received autobiography revealed that in the 1980s, her mother, Debra, yearned to be a parent despite being a lesbian. She convinced a stranger, Chrysta's father, Jeffrey, to help her twice for birthing Chrysta and Kaitlyn.

However, it seems that the two did not conceive the kids in a traditional way, but rather a non-s*xual way. However, Debra requested Jeffrey to make occasional visits to important events like the kids' birthday parties. For a long time, Chrysta felt that her father's general absence was normal.

However, in the late 2000s, Chrysta received a shock of her life as she found that she had more siblings than just Kaitlyn. They discovered that Jeffrey was a sp*rm donor in a Californian cryobank. She was initially hesitant to reach out to her half-siblings.

However, eventually she reached out to more of her siblings, and it is this journey through which Debra helped Chrysta to write the latter's memoir.

Chrysta Bilton's memoir was one of 2022's bestsellers:

Published in 2022, Normal Family: On Truth, Love, and How I Met My 35 Siblings climbed up to become one of the must-read books of the year. A lot of readers were left impressed by the touching history of Chrysta from her childhood to her marriage to Nick Bilton. The official synopsis of the book reads:

"What is a "normal family," and how do you go about making one? Chrysta Bilton's magnetic, larger-than-life mother, Debra, yearned to have a child, but as a single gay woman in 1980s California, she had few options. Until one day, while getting her hair done in a Beverly Hills salon, she met a man and instantly knew he was the one she'd been looking for. Beautiful, athletic, artistic, and from a well-to-do family, Jeffrey Harrison appeared to be Debra's ideal sperm donor."

However, it remains to be seen if the public perception of her would change given Nick's recent actions as the EP of CBS's 60 Minutes.
