In her tribute, Rosanna Scotto mentioned that her mother mortgaged their Brooklyn home to chase her seemingly “impossible dream” of opening a restaurant. She believed in hard work and in the spirit of welcoming every guest as though they were entering her home, confident that success would follow.Marion opened Fresco by Scotto in 1993 alongside her children [son Anthony Jr. and daughters Rosanna and Elaina], and described herself as someone who “never knew how to cook for two.” Marion was fondly called “Mama Scotto” and sometimes referred to as “The Boss” in the restaurant.
