The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson was recently booed during the band’s performance in Tampa, Florida, on May 31, 2026, at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. The show was part of their ongoing Southern Hospitality Tour.According to the reports, the incident was triggered by an image of the group’s black crow mascot dressed as Uncle Sam that appeared on a screen behind the stage. It prompted some fans to chant “U.S.A.”Robinson reportedly got annoyed with the chants and snapped back at the crowd before playing She Talks to Angels. He said:“Thanks for the geography lesson. I don’t know what you have to be so proud of right now.”He was met with boos as some fans started marching out of the venue in protest. In reply to the boos, Robinson was heard saying:“Some of us have real faith. For those of you f–king booing us, some of us are not afraid. And we most assuredly are not f–king ignorant.”Continue reading for more details.Chris Robinson faces ire after mocking fans’ ‘USA’ chant at Florida “Black Crowes” showChris Robinson stirred up controversy after he reportedly mocked his fans' “USA” chant during a show in Tampa on May 31.The incident drew flak from his conservative fans who saw the singer’s response as anti-American and disrespectful.A fan wrote on X:“Never had any issue with the Black Crowes, but good lord, Chris Robinson handled this in the worst way possible. It's one thing if the fans are combative or disrupting your set, it's another when fans are innocuously chanting USA.”A second added:“U.S. Veteran here. Bought tickets for my wife’s birthday in Tampa. Chris Robinson mocked the USA chanters… We walked out disappointed. Hoping for a partial refund.”A third wrote:“Mocking a "USA" chant in Florida? That was never going to go well. Fans pay to hear music, not political commentary. Booing was inevitable.”A fan noted:“I love the “Crowes”. I have followed them since 1991 and have been to their concerts eleven times. They have never been political in any way other than their universal dislike for all politics. Whiskey Myers opens for them. Whiskey Myers draws their own crowd which then leave.”However, some had a different opinion as a fan said:“The truth is its everyone's freedom to have an opinion. Period. Doesn't have to divide us though. If it does thats okay, but you dont have to hate your neighbor because they have a different opinion or view. We can disagree without division.”Chris Robinson’s musical journey began in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born on December 20, 1966.
