Zack Peter has reacted to reports claiming that Christa Pike is on life support following a failed execution attempt.

During one of the latest episodes (shared on October 5) of his #NoFilter with Zack Peter podcast, the pop culture author questioned the humanization of Christa Pike given that she was convicted of a serious crime in 1996 for premeditated first-degree murder. He says:

“And so after that…they’re trying to save her. Saving her so that she’s not suffering is one thing, keeping the b***h alive is another thing. She’s on life support. I feel like this is a really easy solution…you just unplug her it’s not that hard. That lady is already expecting to go. She already made her peace.”

According to a report in the BBC, Pike’s lawyer Stephen Ferrell said her prognosis is still unclear as she remains unconscious. Ferrell said she remains in a critical condition and has been kept on a ventilator at a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

What has Zack Peter previously said on the failed execution of Christa Pike?

Zack Peter has previously called out the failed execution of Christa Pike in a video posted on X, stating it was a “divine intervention.”

In another video posted on X, Peter writes:

“Convicted murderer Christa Pike is currently on life-support following her botched execution in Tennessee.”

He shared a clip within his post from his #NoFilter with Zack Peter podcast, noting how Pike’s lawyer has said that she has been kept on life support and that Tennessee is appointing an investigator. Reportedly, Governor Bill Lee has appointed former U.S. Attorney Ed Stanton to lead an independent investigation.

Peter further highlighted how it was reported that Pike gave her last-meal money to buy pizza for the homeless, stating that there is “no evidence” that this is true. He added:

“So yes, it is true that she denied her final meal, but there is no evidence that she gave that final meal to the homeless. Why would she? Why are we even trying to humanize this woman?”

Peter argues that she has already confessed to police after her arrest in January 1995 for the murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. He argues that botching an execution is one failure, but that actively keeping her alive afterwards is another, and that she had already made her peace.

According to the reports, Pike was scheduled for lethal injection at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville. On September 30, the 50-year-old survived two lethal injections administered to her. Officials halted the process and she was transferred to a hospital. Reports state that both her arms were swollen, burned, and blistered on arrival at the hospital. Her death warrant expired at 11:59 p.m. that night.

Tennessee’s governor, Bill Lee, suspended all remaining executions in Tennessee through the end of the year and ordered an independent, third-party review of the state's lethal injection protocols. He called the botched execution of death row inmate Christa Pike “deeply disturbing.”

Christa Pike’s lawyer, Assistant Federal Defender Stephen Ferrell, has stated that doctors were still working to clear two massive doses of the barbiturate pentobarbital from her body. He added that “she may not fully recover and there may be issues about her competence.”

Randy Spivey, another of Pike's attorneys, confirmed that Pike “is alive right now and receiving life-saving medical care.” According to a report in Fox 17, Robin Maher, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, said that the investigation’s findings should be made public so that Tennesseans can understand what went wrong and how to prevent another failure.
