Let's face it, GH fans. Everyone loves to laugh. Even on a dark daytime drama like General Hospital, our favorite characters bring us much-needed humor when we least expect it. But did you know that some of the GH stars have acted in sitcoms? Here are five GH actors who have previously appeared in a sitcom.
James Patrick Stuart

Any GH fan who is also a die-hard fan of the sitcom Frasier remembers the hilarious episode that featured James Patrick Stuart. It was called "The Ski Lodge," and it was released in 1998. Stuart played a sexy Frenchman named Guy who joined Frasier and the gang for a weekend at a ski lodge, where all kinds of romantic mishaps and misunderstandings ensued.
Stuart has won over many GH fans with his edgy, gray portrayal of Valentin Cassadine. He exudes a charismatic charm that he also utilized in his comedic role on Frasier. For any Frasier fan who may have missed this episode, it is a must-see! Check it out if you get the chance.
Cynthia Watros

Many soap fans remember Cynthia Watros from her work on the soap opera Guiding Light. Some fans may only know her from GH. But did you know that she was a regular on the sitcom Titus? It ran from 2000 to 2002 and centered on a mechanic named Christopher Titus (played by comedian Titus himself) who struggles to deal with his hard-drinking, womanizing father, Ken (Stacy Keach). Watros played Titus' girlfriend, Erin, who eventually became his fiancée.
The sitcom was classified as a dark comedy, which is a departure from Watros' work in the soap opera genre. So if you like your comedies on the darker side, and if you're interested in seeing Watros in a comedic role, then you should definitely check her out in Titus. You can also check her out in old episodes of The Drew Carey Show, where she appeared from 2002 to 2004, as Kellie Newmark.
Watros, following her role in the cult series Lost, starred in a hilarious sitcom limited series titled Cynthia Watros Gets Lost, in which she poked fun of her career and life in Hollywood. It can be found on YouTube.
Steve Burton

As GH fans, we've become so accustomed to watching Steve Burton play "Stone Cold" Jason Morgan that it's almost impossible to picture him in a comedic role. But believe it or not, Burton made a guest appearance in an episode of the popular 80s sitcom, Who's the Boss? It aired in 1990 and was called "Her Father's Daughter."
Burton played Tim, a teenager who hung out with Sam (Alyssa Milano) and her friend, Bonnie (Shana Lane-Block), and Tim's friend in Fort Lauderdale during Sam's winter break.
It's fun seeing our favorite GH stars when they were much younger and in the early stages of their acting careers. Seeing Burton in this Who's the Boss? episode may remind you of the Jason Quartermaine days, when Jason was a young adult and hadn't yet gotten into the car accident that changed his life forever.
In this episode, we see Burton play a fun-loving, flirty teen with raging hormones. Fun-loving and flirty are not words we would use to describe Jason Morgan! So if you'd like to see Burton in a more light-hearted role, then check him out in Who's the Boss?
Vernee Watson-Johnson

Many GH fans may remember Vernee Watson-Johnson as Will Smith's mother, Viola "Vy" Smith, from the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (another 80s hit show). While Vy loved Will to pieces, she sometimes drove him up the wall with her smothering nature. Sounds a little like her GH character, Stella, as some fans complain that Stella sticks her nose into her nephew Curtis' business too often!
But aside from that, we love Stella's friendship with Tracy (Jane Elliot), and we would like to see more scenes of those two strong-willed ladies hanging out together. Make it happen, GH writers!
Watson-Johnson also played a recurring role as Vernajean in the 70s hit comedy series Welcome Back, Kotter. In addition, she appeared in an episode of another popular 70s sitcom, Good Times. With all the comedic work she's done over the years, it's a nice change of pace to see her in the dramatic role of Stella on GH.
John Stamos

Longtime GH fans (very longtime) remember John Stamos' role as Blackie Parrish, a streetwise young man who was the foster son of Lesley Webber (Laura's mother, played by Denise Alexander) and Rick Webber (Chris Robinson). Even though Stamos only played Blackie for two years (from 1982 to 1984), the role was a memorable one, and Stamos played it with passion and zeal. He made Blackie a character we always rooted for, no matter what.
A few years after Stamos left GH, he landed the role of the lovable Uncle Jesse in the smash hit 80s sitcom, Full House. Jesse was a rock musician who lived with his brother-in-law, Danny, Danny's three young daughters, and his best friend, Joey.
Lori Loughlin (ex-Jody, Edge of Night) played Jesse's girlfriend and eventual wife, Becky. Many GH fans who grew up in that era are sure to have fond memories of Jesse's Elvis impersonations throughout the eight years that the series was on the air. Uncle Jesse was the coolest uncle a young girl could hope to have!
On a side note, would you like to see Blackie return to GH and reconnect with some of the other characters from the 80s? Tell us in the comments, GH fans!
