5 General Hospital Characters Who Have the Most to Lose From Jack Brennan’s Death

In a shocking turn of events on General Hospital, Drew Cain’s sinister plan ended with an unexpected twist. The former congressman roped in a reluctant Ava Jerome to spike Jack Brennan’s drink while he searched the latter’s room for that blackmail material from the black box. After Ava put on the perfomance of a lifetime, the inebriated and drugged Jack somehow made it to the pool where he either fell in or was pushed.

Danny and Charlotte found his body when they were trying to get in one last swim of the season, but ran. Ava and Drew then came upon the body and decided to hide it. However, dead bodies never stay hidden for long on soaps, so when Jack's death is discovered, Port Charles will never be the same.

1) Ava Jerome

Ava Jerome (Maura West) was pulled into a sinister and vindictive scheme by the former congressman, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Since he wanted Ava to keep Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) engaged for some time, Drew gave Ava a what he claimed was a sleeping pill. Jack received a work call, allowing Ava to spike his drink with a crushed sleeping pill.

Unfortunately, Jack drank his spiked drink and walked away from Ava’s table, when the effects of the sleeping pill and alcohol kicked in. As WSB investigates Jack’s death, Ava will be picked up as the last person seen with him. Moreover, if any evidence connects the compounds in his system with the fact that Ava put them in his drink, she may become the prime suspect.

2) Drew Cain

While Ava may turn on Drew and accuse him, the former congressman will likely independently come under the WSB and PCPD’s radar for his past friction with Jack. Between the pills and disabling the security system and at the Metro Court, Drew has his hands all over Jack's incident.

Since, there are many eyewitnesses who saw Jack and Drew’s last friction, including Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), the former congressman will likely be investigated.

3) Nina Reeves

As General Hospital fans already know, Jack was recently in a romantic relationship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). While their association was born out of necessity, Nina’s mistake and her remorse opened up new feelings between them. Betrayed by Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), Jack found romance with Nina interesting.

However, he agreed that Nina’s daughter, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), uses her mother and doesn't really care what happens to her. Jack tried to talk Nina out of sticking with Willow’s mess. Part of the mess involved the dirt Jack had on Drew, which was the root cause of Jack’s eventual death. With Jack gone, Nina may feel helpless with no one to turn to for Willow’s thoughtless actions.

Willow has been at the center of the General Hospital storyline for some months now, initially keeping Drew paralyzed and now trying to frame her former husband, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) for her own crime. Unable to point any evidence on the latter, Willow asked Jack to get dirt on Michael. As such, she is waiting to get her hands on some intel against Michael, while she sets up home at the Quartermaine estate. Moreover, the congresswoman recorded Jack's presumed confession of crimes on her phone.

With Jack no more, Willow will lose a WSB intel source. As such, she will likely look for other ways to take down Michael, which may land her in more trouble. Meanwhile, if investigation into Jack’s death connects back to her interactions with the WSB chief, including the recordings in her phone, she may be in danger of losing her political seat. Whether Willow has any role to play in Jack’s death is as yet unknown.

5) Josslyn Jacks

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will likely be crushed by the death of her recruiter-mentor, Jack Brennan. Jack may have manipulated Josslyn to get her to join the WSB, but he later became her protector and mentor.

Joss’s loyalty towards him drove her to snitch to Jack on her mother’s collaboration with Valentin. Jack also cared for her and decommissioned her whenever he felt she was in danger. Currently, Josslyn is joining JJE as the CEO, but is on a secret WSB mission. However, she may feel lost without her boss and her sounding board in the organization.
