General Hospital's Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is reeling from the shock that Joss (Eden McCoy) won the bid for the piers. While he and Ric (Rick Hearst) are trying to wrap their minds around this stunning turn of events, there are several Port Charles residents who may be glad that Joss got the piers. Here are five of those characters.
Trina Robinson

Trina (Tabyana Ali) is the most obvious person, since she is Joss' best friend. Speaking of Trina, why didn't Joss go to the Cat's Eye lounge to watch Trina and Gio's (Giovanni Mazza) performance?
Trina will be happy that Sonny didn't win the piers, especially now that she thinks he is responsible for Curtis' (Donnell Turner) beating. She will be thrilled for Joss, and she will be interested to see what Joss plans to do with the piers. Trina will have faith that Joss is going to do something with them that will benefit PC.
Curtis Ashford

Since Curtis is under the false impression that Sonny ordered the beatings, he will be glad that Sonny didn't get the piers. And since Curtis doesn't trust Drew (Cameron Mathison), he will be glad that Drew didn't win the piers either.
There's another reason why Curtis may be pleased that Joss came out the winner. Out of all of the people who vied for ownership of the piers, Joss is the only one who doesn't have a criminal background. Sonny and Selina Wu (Lydia Look) both have backgrounds in the mob. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) used to run the Pikeman organization. Drew has been involved in insider trading, blackmailing, framing, bullying, manipulating, and targeting half of the people in PC (including Curtis and other members of the Ashford family). So, Curtis may view Joss as the most clean-cut choice to run the piers.
Jenz Sidwell

While Sidwell is a prisoner at the moment, who knows how long he will remain in Pentonville? In soap land, bad guys get out of prison and resume their villainous lifestyles all the time.
And since Sidwell is enemies with Sonny, Selina, and Drew, he may be happy that the piers are now being run by someone new and much younger than the other bidders. If he does miraculously get released from prison, then he may view Joss as a naive opponent due to her youth and her lack of experience in running piers. If Sidwell targets Joss next, then he will likely view her as an easy conquest.
That is when Sonny may step forward and help her out. GH fans are already predicting that he's going to save her from the predators who will try to take advantage of her lack of experience. Could Sidwell be the one he saves her from?
Justine Turner

Since Justine (Nazneen Contractor) is another person who has turned her back on Sonny, she may be happy that Joss won the piers. Even though Sonny told her that he didn't order the Pentonville beatings, she doesn't believe him.
Justine is the acting district attorney and is running for the official position. With someone like Joss running the piers instead of a mob figure like Sonny or Selina, Justine won't need to concern herself with making a case against Joss and trying to take her down. She will simply view Joss as a law-abiding, young businesswoman who is running JJE.
Justine is trying to put her affair with Sonny behind her. The fewer reminders of him, the better for her. If Sonny had won the piers, then his conquest would have served as a constant reminder of their broken relationship. That would have made it even harder for her to move on with her life.
Tracy Quartermaine

Even though Tracy doesn't really know Joss, she will surely be thrilled that Sonny lost the piers. Tracy and most of the other Quartermaines have hated Sonny for years. It will give her great pleasure that her longtime enemy not only lost the piers but lost them to someone so young and inexperienced in the business world. We can picture Tracy cackling with laughter over that as she wonders how in the world Joss managed to outbid Sonny.
Tracy will also be ecstatic that Drew lost out on securing the piers. Remember, he once framed her for drugging his drink with ketamine. He was even planning to bulldoze the Quartermaine crypt, where his own son, Oscar (Garren Stitt), is buried. Tracy will want to do a happy dance when she learns that Joss beat both Sonny and Drew for ownership of the piers.
Were you surprised that Joss won the piers? Do you think Sonny should help her fend off her future foes, or should he step back and trust that she can take care of herself? Sound off in the comments.
