When we watch General Hospital, it's fun to reflect on the early soaps that kick-started the GH actors' careers. The ABC soap Loving, which aired from 1983 to 1995, launched the careers of several GH stars. Here are five GH actors who appeared in Loving.

Laura Wright

Laura Wright began her soap career on Loving, playing Allison "Ally" Rescott from 1991 to 1995. She briefly played the same character on All My Children from December 1991 to January 1992.

When Loving was cancelled in 1995, many of its actors, including Wright, continued their roles in ABC's The City, which ran from 1995 to 1997.

Ally was romantically involved with multiple men, including Cooper Alden, who was played by Michael Weatherly (a former regular on the prime-time hit series NCIS).

Ted King

Long before Ted King joined GH as twin brothers Luis and Lorenzo Alcazar, he played Danny Roberts on Loving from 1994 until the series ended. He continued to play the same character on The City.

Some GH fans would love to see the presumed-dead Lorenzo return, as he was one of Sonny's (Maurice Benard) most formidable mob rivals. Would Sonny feel tempted to return to the mob life if Lorenzo showed up in Port Charles and posed a threat to him and his family? We can only wonder!

Lisa LoCicero

Years before GH's Carly and Olivia partnered up to run the Metro Court together, their portrayers acted together on Loving. LoCicero played Danny Roberts' sister, Jocelyn, for the last several months that Loving aired, after which she continued to play the same character on The City.

Jocelyn was a lawyer, a far cry from LoCicero's character Olivia on GH, who is well-known as a great Italian cook in the Quartermaine household.

Roger Howarth

While Roger Howarth is best known for playing Todd Manning on One Life to Live, a role that he also played on GH, he got his start in the soap world when he played Kent Winslow on Loving in 1992.

It wasn't until 1993 that he began playing Todd on OLTL. Currently, Howarth is playing former villain Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless. But out of all of the soaps he appeared in, we like to think that GH was luckiest to have him in their cast, since he played three different roles on the show at different times (Todd, Franco Baldwin, and Austin Gatlin-Holt) over the span of eleven years.

Rena Sofer

Some soap fans know Rena Sofer as Lois Cerullo on GH, Ned's (Wally Kurth) ex-wife and Brook Lynn's (Amanda Setton) mother. Other fans know her as Quinn Fuller from The Bold and the Beautiful. But Sofer actually began her soap career on Loving when she portrayed Amelia "Rocky" McKenzie from 1989 to 1991.

It's a coincidence that Lisa LoCicero was her co-star in Loving, considering that the two ladies later played best friends on GH. Both of their characters, Olivia and Lois, are Italian, both grew up in Bensonhurst, and both have been married to Ned. They have a lot in common!

Would you like to see Lois return to Port Charles to meet her new granddaughter, Phoebe? Brook Lynn could sure use a friend and confidante right now, in addition to her grandmother, Tracy (Jane Elliot). What better person than her mother, Lois?
