The year 2026 has seen many changes in the GH characters as their storylines move forward. As longtime fans of the long-running ABC soap may agree, the intrinsic nature and moral standing of many of the characters have changed in the last few months. While some timid and harmless characters have turned vicious, others, seemingly negative personalities, are ready to stand up for justice. This unpredictable quality of every Port Charles resident makes them interesting gray characters and adds to the soap's thrill.

1) Ross Cullum

Despite being the director of a powerful international organization like the WSB, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) has exposed himself as a power-grabbing, self-serving, and ruthless person. His ruthless behavior has alarmed viewers as he went after Jason, Anna, and even Rocco. He even succeeded in having PCPD Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) committed to a French psychiatric facility.

To complicate matters further, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) shot him to save Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Currently, Cullum is looking for his shooter, Rocco, and does not care about any collateral damage to other lives along the way.

2) Jenz Sidwell

Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has been a menace since arriving in Port Charles. While he sought to undermine Port Charles mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Sidwell tricked the Deception company ladies into doing legitimate business while using the façade to cover his other activities. Moreover, he resorted to other means to establish himself, such as blackmailing Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and setting fire to Sonny's daughter's pub.

However, his collaboration with Cullum on the secret cold fusion project makes him even more dangerous. As of now, he awaits more information about his son's real murderer while continuing his nefarious activities.

3) Portia Robinson

Longtime fans know that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) has repeatedly sabotaged her relationships through secrets and lies. She and her daughter, Trina (Tabyana Ali), patched up their fallout a few years ago over Portia keeping Trina's parentage a secret. Moreover, despite having a good marriage with Trina's father, Curtis (Donnell Turner), professional and personal secrets, along with her cheating on him, ruined their relationship.

However, Portia appears determined to repeat the same mistakes. While siding with Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) in his fight with Curtis, Portia supported the doctor's false statement about not provoking Curtis. Moreover, she barged into Curtis's office to accuse him. Her selective and selfish stance in every situation is beyond defense.

4) Willow Tait

Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) emerged as one of the show's most unexpected villains in recent months. From the timid nurse who was unable to control her temptation and entered into an illicit affair, she evolved into a full-fledged villain after shooting Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and later drugging him into paralysis. She is actively working with mobster Sidwell. Moreover, fans saw her tricking her mother into becoming her accomplice in her crimes.

While presenting herself as a champion for the people as their new congresswoman, Willow seems to continue down the path of treachery. Unhappy about being stuck with a paralyzed husband, Willow is scheming ways to bring Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) into her life, potentially destroying the latter's stable marriage.

5) Lulu Spencer

As longtime viewers already know, Lulu Spencer (now played by Alexa Havins Bruening) has always been too hasty to respond to situations without much thought to the consequences. Moreover, she managed to be an overprotective mother to her children, stifling them, particularly after she woke up from her long coma. Her controlling attitude has made Charlotte defensive and distant, leading her to keep secrets about her father, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), from Lulu.

At the same time, Rocco found his surrogate mother, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), more dependable and supportive. As such, he confided his problems to Britt and fled town with her instead of turning to his mother, Lulu. Despite all of the warning signs, Lulu still doesn't seem to understand the problem. Although she knows the danger Rocco faces from Cullum, she asked Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) whether they should call the FBI about Rocco's disappearance. Lulu's thoughtless and often single-tracked thinking harms the people around her, but she never gets it right.

From lying to stay married to Sonny to keeping her affair with Drew a secret, Nina has deceived too many people. However, many Port Charles residents have been quick to blame her for nearly everything.

Tricked by her sinister daughter into keeping Drew paralyzed, Nina perforce became an accomplice in Willow's crimes. However, her mistake in injecting Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) with the paralytic drug served as a wake-up call. She let Brennan live by stopping the routine injections. Moreover, she is helping Brennan and Valentin reconnect to take down Cullum. As such, she seems to be on the path of redemption, despite the threat of another fallout with her daughter.

However, his latest return to town, albeit as a fugitive, is mainly to set many records straight. One of them was bringing down Brennan. However, he has realized that Cullum is the bigger danger and is currently looking to infiltrate Wyndemere for more intel about the illegal activities taking place in his former family castle. As such, Valentin is making a huge sacrifice by taking up the fight against two powerful enemies, Cullum and Sidwell, all alone.

From paternity twists to broken relationships, Lucas has been on the back burner of the action many times in Port Charles. An emotional and dependable doctor, Lucas went through numerous relationship traumas, from being lied to by Brad (Parry Shen) to losing Marco (Adrian Anchondo).

He is one of the few people in Port Charles who knows Marco's murderer and understands the peril of staying close to Sidwell. Despite the danger, Lucas agreed to collaborate with Sonny and Laura to get to Sidwell and take him down. This calls for courage, and Lucas has shown a lot of it lately.

On the other hand, she babysat many of the Port Charles children, took care of her father's health, and helped settle Molly's life.

As fans know, the complicated soul holds a lot of love and concern for others but goes about showing it the wrong way, messing things up in the process. However, she has turned a new leaf, putting much of her past troubles behind her as she heads off to medical school at UCLA, where she was recently accepted.
