The power balance on General Hospital has shifted now that Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan have left the crime world. His rival, Ava Jerome, and corrupt former politician, Drew Cain, framed Sonny for an assault on mobster Jenz Sidwell. Lulu Spencer interviewed Sidwell and exposed on Congresswoman Willow Tait. With these people down, their inter-personal network will likely be affected.

While the PCPD will scramble to set things in order, a few of the Port Charles residents may find themselves cornered. Whether new strategies can help re-structure the power balance remains to be seen.

The current situation is set to derail Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) as Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) has released a story exposing the congresswoman's crimes.

Now that the truth is out there, Willow's reputation will take a hit and she would lose most of her allies. With her mother held in Steinmauer by the WSB, Willow will be left with only one person to side with her, her former spouse, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). While Chase writes the entire article off as fake news, Willow may consider suing Lulu for defamation as a last resort.

2) Nina Reeves

Since 2023, viewers have seen Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) trying to protect and help her daughter, Willow. That included the times when Willow destroyed her family to have an affair with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and also when evidence for the Drew shooting case pointed at Willow, Nina pulled strings to have her daughter exonerated. This brought Nina closer to WSB agent Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), eventually pushing them together in a romance.

However, Nina argued with Jack publicly about enabling her criminal daughter which Jack forbade her to do. As such, when Drew buried Jack's dead body in secret, he planted the dead man's wallet in Nina's car to frame her. With this evidence the WSB arrested Nina and is holding her in Steinmauer. On one hand, Nina has no way of proving that she was framed, while on the other, her longtime savior, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is facing legal enquiry of his own on another frame-up. As such, Nina is out of options to fight her situation.

3) Sonny Corinthos

Sonny is fighting a frame-up job executed to take him down. While he quit the mob for good and wanted to lead a clean life, his rivals Drew and Ava Jerome (Maura West) orchestrated an assault on rival mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) inside Pentonville prison, making it look like an order from Sonny. Given his past reputation, most of Sonny's loved ones have deserted him. That includes his cop son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and his girlfriend, ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor).

Most of his allies suspect him of the brutal crime, while the law enforcers are unified in making a move on him with the available evidence. As such, Sonny is finding it difficult to convince people of his blamelessness. Since quitting the mob, he may not have access to the network that could help him track the enemy and prove his innocence.

4) Ava Jerome

Currently Ava may seem to be riding high. After years of being engaged in the long-drawn-out custody battle with Sonny over their daughter, Avery Corinthos, Ava has an ally in Drew Cain, who wants to destroy Sonny. As such, they collaborated on the sneaky plan of getting Sidwell beaten and framing Sonny for it. While the plan succeeded, it also caused collateral damage in the form of Curtis Ashford's (Donnell Turner) injury.

Although this made her uncomfortable since Curtis is Trina Robinson's (Tabyana Ali) father, Ava chose to remain quiet. She has also remained quiet about Drew framing Nina, even though Nina is her friend and Ava disliked this move. However, her selfish moves left Ava with very few allies on her side. If Sonny's frame-up backfires, Ava will find herself in a tight mess.

5) Alexis Davis

Since the tragic death of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) in October 2024, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has been concerned about Sam's children since their two fathers took charge of them. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been an absent parent for Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), while Drew has isolated Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) from her extended family, including grandmother Alexis.

After Danny's recent fallout with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) ended in Danny punching Rocco, Alexis is worried about the two boys. At the same time, Drew threatened to send Scout to a boarding school if Alexis or any of the others contact the girl. With this tyrannical isolation reserved for Scout, Alexis is out of ideas to save her grandchildren from miserable lives. She is worried her actions may jeopardize the little love, acceptance, and freedom the teenagers enjoy.
