5 GH Characters Who Might Be Sonny's co-conspirators (and 5 Who May Refuse to be In His Camp)

In the fallout of the huge cold fusion storyline, the dynamic between General Hospital characters have changed, as have their future arcs. While Carly and Valentin became allies and lovers, Josslyn seemed to support Valentin while wishing him away from her mother. Other people disturbed by the Carly-Valentin friendship are Jack and Sonny. While Joss assured Jack that she sent Valentin into Anna’s arms and Carly will be free for him soon, Sonny has an old score to settle with Valentin.

Surprised that Carly fell for the dark Cassadine, who was his rival, Sonny is planning to drive a wedge in Carly’s new relationship. Moreover, Sonny’s rival, Jenz Sidwell, is set to stand trial and Sonny wants the prosecution to put the final nail in his coffin. For that, he may need to collaborate with his allies.

5 Allies Who May Help Sonny in his Upcoming Missions

1) Ric Lansing

The past few months saw half-brothers and past enemies, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), bury the hatchet and reconcile. After Ric’s hostage ordeal by former wife, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and former lover, Ava Jerome (Maura West), he realized the importance of family. In a change of heart, he decided to become loyal to his brother and daughter.

As such, Sonny may find Ric by his side in the coming days, as the mob boss gears up for Sidwell's (Carlo Rota) and tries to attack Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

2) Justine Turner

As longtime GH fans know, ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) had arrived in Port Charles to take Sonny down. However, recent interactions and the menace of Sidwell have inadvertently brough the two closer. Sonny even rushed to save Justine when Sidwell held her at gunpoint.

Justine even stopped Sonny from committing another crime by killing Sidwell. As the two pursue a secret relationship, Sonny will find Turner an ally in all his missions.

3) Brick

It is a no-brainer that Sonny will have Brick (Stephen A. Smith) on his side since the latter has always been loyal to the mob boss. The fixer has been a longtime ally and will come through even in the coming days. He has also worked with Sonny’s aides, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Last year, he had saved Sonny from being killed at the hospital after his heart surgery. However, recently, he seemed to disagree with his boss in one point.

As mentioned before, Sonny is upset about Carly’s current relationship with Valentin. He was surprised to learn the truth about her sheltering fugitive Valentin at her place. Realizing how close the relationship has developed, Sonny asked Brick’s help to separate the new lovers. While Brick refused to force Carly’s choices, he promised to get dirt on Valentin.

Sonny has a good friendship with Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis), although he has less interaction with Laura’s daughter, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins). However, Sonny is the biological grandfather of Rocco (Finn Carr), Lulu’s son with Dante(Dominic Zamprogna).

Since Rocco is suffering in the aftermath of the Cullum shooting case, he needs support. After Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) broke off his friendship with Rocco, and his parents have forbidden him any contact with Britt, Rocco is lonely. Lulu may ask Sonny to help handle Rocco and the two may become associates on this mission.

5) Ethan Lovett

Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) recently returned to town and reached out to Sonny for work. In the absence of Jason, Ethan became Sonny's right-hand man. While Sonny used Ethan to keep an eye on Ava, a friction with Sidwell left Ava and Ethan taking care of each other.

In the coming days, Ethan will likely continue in Sonny’s team. With his growing closeness with Ava, Ethan may help mediate an agreement between former enemies, Ava and Sonny. Moreover, if some complication arises for baby Phoebe, Ethan may ask Sonny’s help to solve the matter.

5 GH Characters Who May Not Stand by Sonny

1) Carly Spencer

Carly and Sonny are like teammates who have been married five time and raised three children, including Donna, who they are still co-parenting. Although, Sonny and Carly agreed to stop interfering in each other’s romantic lives after their divorce, it's not always easy. Now that Sonny knows about Carly’s current romance with Valentin. Unhappy with this new alliance, Sonny wants to break them up. Carly will dislike Sonny’s interference in her love life and this may earn the mob boss Carly’s wrath.

2) Drew Cain

It is no secret that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) dislikes Sonny and his influence on the powerful people in town such as the mayor. He had tried his best to take down the mob boss by joining hands with mobster Sidwell. However, Drew’s life took a turn when Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) shot him and then put him in a paralytic state.

When he gets on his feet again, Drew will need allies to take revenge on his Willow. However, he cannot go to Sonny or his son to get help to avenge his situation since he had treated Michael nastily in the past. With no support from the Quartermaine family, Drew may turn to Valentin for help. Siding with Valentin will put Drew in Sonny’s enemy camp.

3) Nina Reeves

While Sonny does not fully trust ex-wife Nina, he often comes through to help Nina. As fans know, currently Nina is focused on helping her daughter Willow. As such, she became the latter’s accomplice in many crimes, including injecting Drew with paralytic drugs.

With her loyalty totally fixated on her daughter, Nina will only work for Willow’s benefit. Knowing that Willow wants to ruin both Drew and Michael, Nina will likely not get into any interaction with Sonny. Since helping Willow hurt Michael makes Sonny a natural enemy, Nina may stay out of Sonny’s way.

4) Jason Morgan

As fans witnessed, Jason suffered an ordeal of his own. Rocco shot WSB director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Jason took the fall. As such, the WSB arrested Jason and tortured him in Jakarta. After Cullum’s death, Josslyn negotiated for Jason’s release.

However, Jason returned to Port Charles, a changed man. He is broken in body and spirit. Currently, his chief interest is reconnecting to his son, Danny Morgan. As such, after returning from the father-son trip, Jason may pull away from the mob world. The henchman may refuse to get involved in any task assigned by Sonny, his former employer and friend.

5) Anna Devane

After months locked up as a hostage, and later, in psychiatric facilities, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is back in Port Charles to resume her normal life. While PCPD wants her back as their commissioner and her family and friends have welcomed her, Anna’s mental health is still delicate. She continues to hallucinate seeing Peter August (Wes Ramsay) and wants revenge on some undisclosed target.

In this chaotic state, Anna may not be stable enough to have an objective view of people and their intentions. If Anna has a hidden agenda or a secret to coverup, she may be too busy to do much else. That will likely keep her away from Sonny’s affairs or she may choose not to belong to Sonny’s camp.
