5 Alliances That May Be Impacted by Sonny's Predicament

1) Emma Drake and Gio Palmieri

Recently, viewers witnessed Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) caught between his love for his grandfather, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the strong stand Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) took against Sonny. After Sonny was accused of having Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) beaten in prison, which accidentally also injured Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Dante convinced Gio to give up on Sonny. A confused Gio shared his predicament with Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner).

Emma already had her grandparents advise her to stay away from Gio for her own safety, which she declined to comply with. While Emma was surprised about the accusation toward Sonny, she heard Gio out. Emma has always been the voice of reason for Gio. She may guess that Sonny deserves the benefit of doubt while showing surprise at Gio giving up on his grandfather so easily. Whether their closeness is tested by this or they come out a stronger couple remains to be seen.

2) Gio Palmieri and Trina Robinson

Gio is collaborating with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) on their music. Although the Route 91 fiasco has caused them to have a fallout with Gio's mother, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Gio and Trina ultimately decided to continue with their music careers. As such, when Trina's father, Curtis, was hurt presumably by Sonny's orders, Gio carried Trina's message to Sonny.

Although Gio informed Trina that Sonny has promised not to ever hurt her father, he also shared a few good words about his grandfather. However, an unimpressed Trina chose to reject all positivity. In the coming days when Gio finds Trina and her best friend, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) planning to ruin Sonny, he may feel inclined to side with his grandfather. Since Trina is convinced that Sonny is the villain, she may refuse to work with Gio on their music, breaking off the final tie in their friendship.

3) Michael Corinthos and Jordan Ashford

As fans have recently seen, Curtis offered to have his girlfriend, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), step into his professional role as the CEO of Aurora Media. As Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), the owner of Aurora, agreed, he and Jordan developed a new bond. This friendship grew close as they shared their problems with each other. Michael was also seen siding with Jordan after the revelation of his cousin, Brook Lynn's Route 91 secret.

However, whether Michael sides with Jordan as she prepares for a war against Sonny remains to be seen. Since Jordan believes Sonny is responsible for Curtis's injuries, she will likely be swamped by an emotional stance. However, Michael may use his logical thinking in this matter. He may show leniency in judging Sonny and retain his good faith in his father. That may bring a rift in his newly-formed camaraderie with Jordan.

4) Carly Spencer and Valentin Cassadine

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is among the very few people who may believe Sonny when he claims to not have ordered the assault on Sidwell. Since she and Sonny have always been honest with each other, she would trust him and understand his delicate position. While Carly plans to help Sonny out of this sticky situation, her boyfriend, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), may not be too happy about her decision.

As longtime GH fans may remember, Valentin and Sonny have had a rivalry in the past when Valentin had switched Sonny's bipolar medication. Although they have resolved the past annoyance, Valentin may disagree with Carly and believe that Sonny is behind the Pentonville violence. This will likely cause much friction with Valentin as Carly is fiercely protective of Sonny and may face tension in her relationship with Valentin.

5) Ric Lansing and Elizabeth Webber

After years as rivals, Sonny recently reconciled with his half-brother, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). As the brothers came together, Sonny trusted Ric with his secrets and his legal matters. As such, he sent Ric to talk Curtis out of blaming Sonny. While Ric failed in convincing Curtis, he possibly believes Sonny's version of the situation.

However, Ric's romantic interest and former wife, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), may not think Sonny is innocent. Siding with Dante, Liz may challenge Ric's version of the truth. Finding Liz firmly in Dante's court, a jealous Ric may push her to support his belief. This will likely cause friction between Liz and Ric.
