In a surprising GH twist in 2026, Commissioner Anna Devane fell victim to an insidious plan to remove her from Port Charles. However, Jenz Sidwell and Ross Cullum used a nasty method to go about it. As fans already know, Anna was kidnapped and held hostage inside the Wyndemere tunnels in December 2025. Injecting her with hallucinogens and using voice-distorting devices, they made her hear Cesar Faison speaking to her while she hallucinated seeing the deceased supervillain and his dead son, Peter August, in her room.
Harrowed by the experience, Anna overpowered the Wyndemere butler, Pascal, and fled, only to be captured and placed in a French psychiatric facility. She has recently recovered her composure and has reached out to Felicia and Emma. However, she needs to trust some allies before making her endgame move.
5 trustworthy allies for Anna at the moment
1) Felicia Scorpio

As recent episodes have proved once again, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) is the most dependable friend Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) can have in dire situations. Since Anna landed in the French psychiatric facility, Felicia has visited her more than once and has remained in contact with the facility for updates.
As such, Anna reached out to Felicia as she started getting her issues under control. Instead of naming Faison (Anders Hove), this time Anna warned Felicia against trusting “Nathan West” (Ryan Paevey). She delivered the cryptic message that Nathan was not who they all think he is. If Felicia picks up on the hint, a lot of problems could be avoided.
2) Valentin Cassadine

Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was dating Anna before Valentin skipped town. Anna has a soft spot for him, while Valentin truly loves her. The fugitive Cassadine even called the clinic pretending to be Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) to get information on Anna's condition. Moreover, Valentin knows how dangerous his former boss, Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), can be.
In the current scenario, Valentin would be a trustworthy ally for Anna. Not only will he look out for her safety, but he will also understand her condition. He can gauge the peril she is facing and fight by her side to free her from all of this.
3) Alexis Davis

Longtime GH viewers will remember that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has been Anna's ally for a long time. They have worked together in the past. While Alexis has relied on Anna's WSB intelligence to navigate Cassadine dynamics, Anna has turned to Alexis as her attorney for legal battles, including helping her through the mess involving her twin, Alex Devane.
In the current situation, Anna may find a calm and clear-headed ally in Alexis. Unlike Laura Collins (Genie Francis), who is compromised after already placing her trust in "Detective Nathan," Alexis faces no such dilemma. As a result, she may be more willing to believe Anna's claims and help clear her reputation.
4) Jack Brennan

Just like Valentin, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) is aware of the extent of the danger Cullum poses. He suspected his boss and was secretly trying to investigate him. While he and Valentin have fallen out, they both understand the real danger looming over Port Charles and are desperate to stop it at all costs. Moreover, the two rivals have agreed to join forces to prevent the threat posed by the cold fusion project.
While Jack is struggling with medicine-induced paralysis, he is determined to recover and embark on his mission to stop Cullum's nefarious plans. He is likely to trust Anna and become her ally against their common enemy.
5) Jason Morgan

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been captured by the WSB and moved to Jakarta after the hitman took the fall for Rocco (Finn Carr) and claimed to have shot Cullum. Expectedly, keeping Jason away from Port Charles after forcing Anna away works in Cullum's favor since there will be fewer people available to save the town.
In the past, Anna has collaborated with Jason on many missions. Moreover, she relayed her Faison suspicions to Jason through Felicia. Jason is the person Anna trusts to take action and protect their families and friends from any danger that threatens them. Although Jason is unavailable to Anna right now, he may still be the person she considers most dependable in this situation.
5 characters that Anna must dodge right now
1) Ross Cullum

During her captivity, Anna did not directly meet Cullum. While he tormented her from outside the room and called the shots regarding her torture, Anna mostly dealt with Pascal (Marc Forget). However, having been part of the WSB in the past, Anna knows Cullum and what he may be capable of. If he encounters her again, Cullum may try to eliminate her.
At this point, it is unclear whether Anna has uncovered the truth about Cullum. However, she may have her suspicions about the director. She would be wise to stay out of Cullum's path and work to unravel the Wyndemere mysteries without confronting him directly.
2) Liesl Obrecht

In the past, Anna and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) have not shared a particularly cordial relationship. During her early days with Faison, Dr. Liesl was a villain whom Anna worked to stop. While Liesl changed over the years, Anna may not have developed much trust in her.
Currently, Liesl is being forced by Cullum to work on the cold fusion project that her daughter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), abandoned. Although she is acting under pressure, Liesl is once again aligned with the villains. Moreover, she is quick-tempered and reckless. She could become the weak link that allows Cullum to strike at Anna if Anna chooses to trust the doctor.
3) Willow Tait

Since Anna left town, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) has undergone significant changes in both her character and her career. Willow is currently serving as the interim congresswoman and helped move Anna from the high-security French facility to another clinic.
However, Anna has no idea that Willow is working in collusion with Cullum and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) for her own benefit. If Anna confides in Willow, she could pass that information along to her allies and further escalate the danger.
4) Dante Falconeri

When Anna was the Commissioner with the PCPD, she worked closely with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). While Dante is a good cop, he is gullible and believes "Nathan" is his long-dead colleague. In reality, Nathan is the twin, Cassius, which makes this a precarious situation.
Meanwhile, because Anna knows that "Nathan" is not who he claims to be, she cannot trust anyone who places their faith in the impostor. Moreover, Dante is currently on the run with his son. He is unlikely to be in the thick of things in Port Charles anytime soon.
5) Nina Reeves

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Nathan's cousin, loves and trusts him. Like many others in town, she believes that Nathan came back from the dead. She has no idea that the person she knows as Nathan is actually Cassius and that he is working with Cullum and Sidwell. While Nina has agreed to help Jack fight Cullum, "Nathan" remains her blind spot.
Moreover, the businesswoman is stretched thin by Willow's Sidwell connections and her guilt over the Jack situation. Under these circumstances, Nina routinely turns to "Nathan" for comfort, information, and help. With Nina's connection to Nathan being the compromising factor, Anna cannot afford to trust her.
