5 Possible Outcomes from Ava and Drew's Alliance on General Hospital

Alliances are changing on General Hospital as Drew Cain has reached out to befriend Ava Jerome. While both were on mobster Jenz Sidwell’s side before he was arrested, they have planned to collaborate to bring down Sonny Corinthos. Since Ava was close to Sidwell, Drew asked for her help to acquire some of Sidwell’s assets and businesses that are up for auction.

Sonny and Valentin also want to buy Sidwell's properties, which will bring on a corporate war in Port Charles that may blow up lives and relationships. As for Ava and Drew, they just don't want to see Sonny and Valentin win.

5 Consequences of an Ava-Drew Partnership

1) Shifting of power balance in Port Charles

Now that Sonny (Maurice Benard) is stepping away from mob life, he wants to buy back all his properties that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had grabbed through manipulations and blackmail.

However, former congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who harbors a grudge against Sonny, wants the same assets. As such, Drew has asked help from Ava Jerome (Maura West) who is also Sonny’s enemy. With Sonny’s grip on Port Charles poised to loosen, Drew and Ava consider this the right time to move in for the kill. Armed with Ava’s insider knowledge and tactical mind, Drew’s aggressive move may tilt the power balance in their favor temporarily.

2) Sonny’s wrath and Avery’s custody risk

Ava and Sonny have been at odds for years, despite sharing a daughter due to a brief tryst in the Quartermaine crypt. Sonny and Ava were at odds over Avery's custody last year, but have worked out an agreement. However, Ava is always worried that Sonny will try to take Avery again.

With Ava once again working with Sonny’s rival and actively trying to usurp his plans, the former mob boss will be furious with her. As such, he may make Ava's fears come true.

Recently, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) noticed Ava and Drew sharing a table at the Metro Court pool. While Nina was intrigued, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) approached Ava and warned her against befriending Drew. He also presented a veiled threat to Drew about making enemies while having much to hide. While, Ava was shocked to see Jack threaten Drew, Nina wondered what her friend was doing with the unlikeable Drew.

Since Nina knows the obnoxious side of Drew Cain, she will realize that Ava and Drew can only collaborate to cause misery to others. She may try to warn her friend away from Drew. However, Ava may not listen to Nina causing a rift in their friendship. If Nina conveys the same feelings to their third friend, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), Ava may lose another ally.

4) Possibility of a romantic turn

On GH, vile collaborations and intense revenge plots often come with related romance. Ava’s past alliance with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to extort money from Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) saw the two blackmailers get together in a brief romance before the co-conspirators turned on each other.

As such, Ava and Drew’s collusion against common enemies will likely bring them close. This may end in a quick affair, as both Drew and Ava are currently single with Drew’s upcoming divorce and Ethan Lovett's (Christian Howard) sudden disappearance.

While Drew and Ava collude against their enemies, there is a possibility of said enemies getting together against them. If Nina gets an inkling about Drew and Ava trying to displace Sonny’s hold on his properties, she may inform the former mobster. She may also warn the other contender for Sidwell’s assets, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), if she learns about his intention.

With Nina at the center of this information distribution, Jack and Valentin may find themselves on the same side against Drew. Moreover, to add to their strength, Jack and Valentin may rope in another rival, Sonny, forming one of the strangest collaborations that Port Charles has ever seen. Desperate to take down former congressman Drew, the collaborators may pull in their supporters to create a final showdown.
