General Hospital's Brook Lynn Quartermaine and Harrison Chase finalized their divorce after ditching a long fight through their attorneys and flying to the Dominican Republic. They refused to say anything negative about each other, forcing the judge to ask them to reconsider.

Later, after the reluctant divorce, the newly-separated couple seemed sorrowful about this massive decision. Chase was seen sobbing before he buried his ring. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn remembered the good old times as she flew back home.

5 Clues That Brook Lynn and Chase's Bond May Remain

1) The regret around the breakup

As fans noticed, neither Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) nor Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) looked pleased with their decision to legally end their marriage. Before the final event, they only had good words for each other. They refused to malign each other, or use the prenup agreement to take each other down. In their amicable separation, they decided on a 50/50 custody sharing for Phoebe (Luna and Lucia Creighton).

After signing the legal papers, they went their separate ways. However, both grieved this turn of events. While Chase was seen sobbing, Brook Lynn reminisced about their engagement and wedding. As a sad BLQ flew home, Chase buried his ring under the sand on the beach.

2) The common thread of co-parenting Phoebe

The bond between Chase and Brook Lynn is far from over. As mentioned before, the couple decided to share 50/50 custody of their newly-adopted daughter. As they go about their separate lives back in Port Charles, they will continue to connect with each other over Phoebe's needs.

Since the mystery around Phoebe's biological parentage is set to be revealed any moment, there is a danger of BLQ and Chase losing custody. Alternatively, Phoebe may be in danger of being kidnapped by interested parties. Any danger to baby Phoebe will bring her adoptive parents together. That may reunite the divorced couple and make their bond stronger.

3) Factors of legal warfare and moving out

As viewers noted, the attorneys of the divorcing couple were set to malign the other party as they pushed for total custody for baby Phoebe. As Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard), who represented Chase, confronted Brook Lynn's attorney, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), the couple felt disgraced. As such, they dumped their legal advisors and flew to the Dominican Republic to complete the procedure without slandering each other. This mutual respect speaks of their past love.

At the same time, Chase informed his former wife that he would take a few days to clear out of the Quartermaine property. This would likely put them in each other's orbit in the coming days. As Chase's move drags on, it is likely that the now-divorced duo will feel the distress strongly.

4) Pushback on Tracy's over-interference

In the past few months, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) has been trying to push Chase out of her granddaughter's life for the latter's protection. The overprotective grandmother warned Chase and then tried to help BLQ see the truth about her husband. Although Tracy promised to stand by BLQ's decision, she was happy when her granddaughter decided to file for divorce.

She sent Brook Lynn an encouraging voice mail about the divorce. In the coming days, Tracy may try to influence BLQ against letting Chase see Phoebe, or cause other problems between them. However, as Brook Lynn finds her footing and her voice, she may eventually push back against her grandmother's interference. This may leave room for a Chase-Brook Lynn reunion later.

5) Willow's re-involvement with Drew

Over the past several months, Chase has prioritized Congresswoman Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) over his own family. While he chose to believe that Willow was a victim, he failed to see how she manipulated him. Moreover, after Brook Lynn confessed to having framed her rival out of marital insecurity, Chase believed that his wife was behind Lulu Spencer's (Alexa Havins) exposé on Willow's crimes.

Chase walked out on his wife for the mistake of keeping a secret, yet he refused to believe that Willow could have drugged her husband. However, now that the congresswoman is ready to collaborate with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and get embroiled in a legal case, she may pull more important strings than Chase. If sidetracked by Willow, Chase may realize Brook Lynn's worth.
