General Hospital's Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is tired of battling with Drew (Cameron Mathison) in order to spend time with her own granddaughter, Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski). Perhaps she can turn to her ex-husband, Ric (Rick Hearst), for legal counsel. Here are five reasons why she can ask him for help.
Alexis and Ric are Getting Along Better Now

DespiteAlexis, Kristina (Kate Mansi), and Ava (Maura West) tying Ric to a bed in Alexis' basement with a ball gag in his mouth for a month, Ric and Alexis are now starting to get along better. When Jason (Steve Burton) was in prison in Jakarta, we had a hilarious scene where Ric told Alexis that Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) wanted to join the mob because he was desperate to get Jason out of prison and back home. Ric tried to calm Alexis down as she started to hyperventilate, and then she repeatedly sank back into her chair in shock. The scene was intentionally funny, but Ric took to heart how upsetting this news was for Alexis. We applaud him for caring about her emotional well-being, even though she kept him prisoner for a month.
Then, Ric made an insightful remark, saying that Danny was the perfect combination of Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason. "Like his father, he's coiled and ready to strike at any and all costs," Ric said. "Like his mother, he jumps to action to right any injustice against the people he loves." Considering that Ric is not even close to Danny, we give him props for noticing those traits in the troubled teenager. Evidently, Ric really has changed, so Alexis may be able to confide in him about everything Drew has been doing to keep her and Scout apart.
Ric Would Help Alexis out of Love for Molly

Ric and Alexis came together to throw their daughter, Molly (Kristen Vaganos), a book launch party to celebrate the publication of her romance novel, and they even brainstormed possible themes for the party. Ric wasn't the most attentive father when Molly was growing up, but he's trying to make up for lost time. He knows that Molly is Scout's aunt, so Ric's love for Molly would be enough incentive for him to go up against Drew and help the Davis women get more time with Scout.
Some GH fans would like to see Scout seek emancipation from Drew so that he won't have the power to keep her from seeing her own family. Fans are tired of watching Drew isolate Scout from all of her loved ones. This includes not only Alexis, Kristina, Molly, and Danny, but also the entire Quartermaine family.
Ric is Now Allied with Sonny, Who is Also Battling Drew

Over the years, Alexis and Sonny have remained friends, as they share a daughter, Kristina. Sonny is engaged in a battle of his own with Drew, since Drew is determined to gain control of the piers. Now that Ric and Sonny have made amends and are growing closer, Ric might be willing to team up with both Sonny and Alexis against Drew.
After Jason returned from prison, Sonny asked Ric and Jason to put their past differences aside. Sonny told Jason that he now views Ric as a brother in every sense of the word. This is a new Sonny we're seeing, as the Sonny from 20 years ago hated Ric and never would have asked Jason to extend an olive branch to him. Maybe all of these good vibes we're seeing between Sonny and Ric will carry over into Ric's interactions with Alexis. The hostility between Ric and Alexis has already begun to fade, so maybe we're going to get a powerhouse trio of Alexis, Sonny, and Ric going up against Drew.
Ric Wants to Impress Elizabeth

Ric loves Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), who is a compassionate person, as she is the head nurse at the hospital. If Ric can help Alexis find a way to secure more time with Scout, then Liz would likely admire him for helping the Davis women. Liz knows that Scout has been lost since her mother, Sam, died. The past two years haven't been easy for her. So if Ric can help Scout reconnect with her remaining family, then Liz would be happy about that.
Ric ruined his two previous marriages to Liz, and now, he's trying to make up for that. He has always viewed Liz as the woman who inspired him to become a better man. He may keep that in mind if Alexis asks him for help in her fight with Drew.
Ric Knows Alexis in Ways That Most Others Don't

Alexis and Ric have a unique relationship, as we always see sparks between them when they bicker, which is an entertaining element in their scenes together. Ric understands Alexis in ways that not many others do, since they were once married, and that may help him to figure out the best possible strategy to utilize against Drew.
Drew is going to keep being a thorn in Alexis' side, so she's going to need all the help she can get if she wants to spend more time with Scout. Stay tuned, GH fans!
