5 Reasons General Hospital's Brook Lynn Should Kick Chase to the Curb for Good

General Hospital is currently blowing up one of the most stable marriages in Port Charles. After months of agony, Brook Lynn Quartermaine's secret came out as Chase forced Lucy Coe to reveal that BLQ was driving on Route 91 on the night of Jordan Ashford's crash. Although intent on staying honest, Brook Lynn was stopped from coming clean by her protective grandmother, Tracy.

As the hidden truth exploded, Chase walked out on Brook Lynn because the fact that his wife was nearly killed was less of a concern than Willow being sad. While Brook Lynn may think about saving her marriage, Chase wants an out. Moreover, Tracy is pushing for Brook Lynn's divorce, believing that to be the best option for her granddaughter.

5 Rationales Behind Brook Lynn's Clean Break from Chase

1) The unhealthy obsession with Willow

Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is fixated on constantly helping his former wife, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). He was one of the few who believed Willow was innocent of the crimes she was accused of and put his career at stake to help her. He continued to consider Willow a victim and unintentionally helped her frame Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) for her crime.

As Chase reacted to the recent disclosure by walking out on his wife, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), he went straight to Willow to unburden himself. He even proceeded to reveal that BLQ had framed Willow, a secret Brook Lynn had considered safe with her husband. Chase has repeatedly prioritized Willow's needs over Brook Lynn's. As such, Brook Lynn should kick him out of her life.

As mentioned before, Chase walked away from Brook Lynn after the recent disclosure. Moreover, he declared that he could not stand to look at her. At a time when the rest of the world was judging and targeting Brook Lynn, instead of standing by her as her partner, Chase chose to abandon her.

Michael believes Brook Lynn deserves better, as does her grandmother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). Chase did not consider all the sacrifices BLQ made for her marriage, from stepping away from her music to adjusting their adoption plan. Since Chase is not the kind of husband who would fight the world for Brook Lynn but instead, decided to turn on her, she must cut all ties with him.

Chase's stance also showed lack of empathy towards Brook Lynn as many others accused her. Although Brook Lynn had informed him about her insecurities where Willow was concerned, instead of listening to his wife's reasoning, Chase walked out on her at the most vulnerable moment.

Incidentally, Chase trusts Willow completely and never questioned her actions. While General Hospital viewers knew Willow shot Drew, Chase was busy trying to prove her innocence. In a double standard, Chase turned on Brook Lynn for a much smaller issue, such as scraping a guardrail during an accident and forgetting to report it. Chase is ready to destroy his marriage over this. As such, BLQ should not tolerate this hypocrisy anymore and set Chase free to go to his Willow.

Brook Lynn has made many compromises to keep her marriage intact. In return, she deserved to enjoy the security of love and stability in her relationship. However, Chase's recent stance has destroyed her cozy marriage. Even if they stay together, Brook Lynn may continue to look over her shoulder for any time that Chase may turn on her.

Instead of being vulnerable to attacks from the man she loves, a free Brook Lynn may at least have her family and the people she can trust to stand by her. Putting Chase over her family has cost Brook Lynn dearly and she should consider cutting her losses.

Brook Lynn's decision to remain quiet about being on Route 91 on the fateful night stemmed from her concerns about adopting baby Phoebe. Worried that the adoption would be put in jeopardy because she had a glass of wine, Brook Lynn kept quiet.

Brook Lynn wants her new daughter to have a safe environment to be raised in. Although Chase is fond of Phoebe, he never prioritised being an ideal father over helping Willow or walking out on Brook Lynn. However, Phoebe needs a stable family and childhood. As such, Brook Lynn should separate from Chase, who adds instability to Phoebe's life.
