Rocco Falconeri is struggling with guilt and trauma after shooting Cullum to save Jason’s life. While his family works to protect his secret, Cullum has begun suspecting Danny as the shooter. Tensions rise when Danny and Charlotte arrive at Wyndemere, leaving Rocco desperate and unable to explain the truth. Concerned about his behavior, Gio reaches out to Dante after Rocco turns to him for help.

5 steps Gio can take to help Rocco on General Hospital

1) Acting as a confidante and an anchor

As fans witnessed, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) reached out to Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) in desperation on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. While Rocco could not explain anything about the reason for his panic, Gio realized that his brother was stressed and reached out to their father.

Gio can be Rocco’s anchor when the latter feels that he has messed things up for himself, Danny, and his parents. Gio can play an emotional safe haven for his brother, offering his shoulder to unburden himself without getting judged. Moreover, he can assure Rocco of keeping his secret safe.

2) Offering sibling empathy and distraction

In an extension of the previous point, Gio can empathize with Rocco on feeling lonely with no one to turn to with problems. Having been there, Gio understands the situation. As such, he may help Rocco process the guilt the latter is feeling. He may validate the idea of Rocco’s “hero” status and confirm his courage.

Gio may also consider providing a distraction for Rocco, who is depressed with his present situation. With access to the entertainment industry and being a musician himself, Gio may think of ways to take Rocco’s mind off his troubles, providing a brief respite.

3) Stepping in to offer solutions

As yet, Gio is unaware of the reasons for Rocco’s extreme anxiety. For now, he can only offer a shoulder to lean on or silent support. However, if Rocco decides to spill all to his elder brother, Gio may feel the need to step in to help him.

Gio may offer to talk to people, including Charlotte and Danny. He may offer to visit Wyndemere. Alternatively, he may ask Rocco to lie low or skip town to escape Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

4) Bringing responsible adults into the loop

As General Hospital fans know, Gio visited Commissioner Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) at his office after realizing Rocco was in some kind of trouble. As such, he may do the same after getting the whole story from Rocco. He may discuss details with Dante about ways to help Rocco.

If he finds Dante and Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) clashing, he may mediate and point out the delicate nature of the problem at hand. He may also suggest that others are brought into the loop, such as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Whether he brings more people into the loop remains to be seen.

5) Intervene in the Danny conflict or at Wyndemere

Since Rocco is worried about Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte’s (Bluesy Burke) decision to go to Wyndemere, Gio may suggest that he will talk to them and try to dissuade them. Unfortunately, Danny and Charlotte are already on Spoon Island and have been caught by Cullum. With no access to Danny, Gio may want to visit the place.

He may think of some excuse to visit Wyndemere himself. He will likely assure Rocco that he could look out for Danny and Charlotte inside the castle. Whether he plans to use Lucas’s connection to visit the place remains to be seen.

General Hospital: 5 ways Gio can ruin Rocco’s current situation

1) Revealing secrets to unintended adults

As mentioned before, Gio may interfere with Rocco’s problems in a bid to help him. While General Hospital fans saw him reach out to Dante as his first move, he may become more concerned if he learns the truth.

As a trusted adult, Gio may believe his grandfather, Sonny, will help Rocco. However, he may inadvertently share intel with Emma, Brook Lynn, and some others. This will shatter Rocco’s confidence in him and his trust in his elder brother, complicating matters further.

2) Over-protectiveness through misguided loyalty

Rocco is crumbling under guilt, anxiety, and indecision. To add to his problems, his parents have different opinions about the right move to protect him while they treat him like a child. At this breaking point, Rocco tried to reach out to Gio.

Gio is feeling responsible for Rocco as his elder brother. Out of loyalty, he may want to do anything to protect Rocco. If he suggests that Rocco go underground to avoid Cullum, and he helps hide him, Gio may add to the chaos. He may also try to keep Rocco under wraps by spinning excuses, adding to the confusion.

3) Pushing Rocco towards premature confession

Gio has developed a good rapport with his father, Commissioner Dante. While Dante is not likely to share the intel about suppressing evidence from the shooting with Gio, the latter may believe it’s best to go by the book. As such, Gio may push Rocco to do the right thing and come forward.

While Rocco’s parents already know the truth, Gio’s insistence on coming clean may affect him negatively, make him panic, and cause him to flee. Alternatively, Rocco may have a public breakdown before any legal protections are in place, such as Lulu’s plan to leave town and Dante’s plan to sit on the evidence. This will put a target on Rocco.

4) Accidentally leading Cullum to the evidence

As General Hospital viewers know, Cullum is actively looking for his shooter. While he is under the impression that Danny is the culprit and has the teenager in his clutches, intense questioning of Danny and Charlotte may reveal to the WSB Director that they are innocent. If Gio tries to intervene by going to Wyndemere or cleaning up Rocco’s mess, he may attract Cullum’s attention.

Cullum may realize that besides Danny, Rocco may be the next person Jason (Steve Burton) will take the fall for. Moreover, Gio’s interference may also make Danny come to the conclusion that Rocco might be involved, exposing Rocco to his brother.

5) Becoming a target himself

Gio may try to assuage Rocco’s palpable guilt by interfering in his parents’ efforts to protect him or trying to save Danny to ease Rocco’s guilt.

If Cullum doubts that Danny is the shooter, and Gio exposes his involvement inadvertently, he may become Cullum’s next suspect. As such, Cullum, who is looking for someone to pin the shooting on, may zero in on Gio. Having Gio in the limelight will add to Rocco’s guilt, leading him to a breakdown.
