Jason Morgan is set to leave town as Steve Burton departs General Hospital for an extended break. Since this is work-related, Jason must leave his teenage son, Danny Morgan, behind. Although Jason asked Carly and Michael to keep a watchful eye on Danny, his choices for guardians appear to be between Alexis and Tracy. Recently, Jason picked Alexis as his first choice. However, Tracy has objected to the choice. As such, fans may debate which guardian is best for Danny between Alexis and Tracy during Jason’s absence.

5 ways Alexis would be the ideal guardian for Danny on General Hospital

1) Alexis is Danny’s grandmother

With his mother, Sam (Kelly Monaco), dead, Danny’s biological connection to his mother is his grandmother. Keeping that in mind, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) would be the best option as a guardian in Jason’s absence. Danny shares a good rapport with Alexis and trusts her. Alexis has proven to be a protective mother and will extend this protection to her motherless grandson.

Moreover, in Alexis’s home, he will get to spend time with his aunts, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Kristina (Kate Mansi), who love him as well. Danny may get help and support in his pursuit of Charlotte from Kristina, while Molly may advise him to stay on track.

2) Fulfilling Sam’s wish of sibling connection

Jason would be fulfilling Sam’s wishes if he let Alexis become Danny’s guardian in his absence. As longtime General Hospital fans know, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) wanted her children to stay close. Alexis is committed to honoring Sam’s memory and keeping her essence alive in her children.

As such, having Danny in her protection and custody fulfills Alexis’s promise. Since she has access to Scout, Sam’s daughter with Drew, Danny, and Scout can spend time together just as Sam wanted. Willow has made that possible after recently agreeing to lift the protective order against Danny.

3) Alexis offers a stable home environment

Alexis’s home has three adults: herself, Molly, and Kristina. While Kristina is likely to be busy reopening Charlie’s, both Alexis and Molly are lawyers. As such, the environment in Alexis’s house is stable and serious, very different from the chaos that Danny is used to in the Quartermaine mansion.

This may help keep the teenager focused on his schoolwork and out of trouble. Moreover, staying with Alexis and Molly may inculcate morally correct habits in him.

4) Alexis can provide legal protection

As mentioned before, Alexis is a highly skilled lawyer with her own firm, and she has another efficient lawyer, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), as her partner.

Danny, who has recently been getting into trouble, will find legal representation from his grandmother’s firm. Whether it is Danny’s connection with Charlotte’s secret actions or Drew and Willow’s threats, he will be legally protected by Alexis.

5) Alexis has strong maternal instincts

Alexis has always been a protective mother to her daughters. She has been a passionate parent who raised Molly and Kristina with love and care. Alexis would likely use the same methods to care for Danny.

Friday’s General Hospital episode saw Alexis making time to attend Danny’s basketball game. She even took time to read up on the game and its rules. If Alexis becomes Danny’s guardian, she would likely take a further interest in Danny’s pursuits and activities.

General Hospital: 5 ways Tracy may prove the right option as Danny’s guardian

1) Danny gets continuity of environment

As General Hospital fans know, Danny currently lives in the Quartermaine mansion and is well adjusted there. Choosing Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) as the guardian would not disrupt the teenager’s life and his daily routine at school. Moreover, Danny shares a great bond with Tracy, as the latter enjoys his spunk.

Moreover, a status quo living arrangement will likely avoid the stress of any new adjustment needed on Danny’s part when his only living parent goes out of town. Also, Danny has his cousins at home and his friends nearby to keep him engaged.

2) Danny has access to the Quartermaine family

In continuation of the previous point, staying with Tracy means Danny will remain in contact and in the protective surroundings of the other adults of the Quartermaine family. Since Jason already asked Michael to keep an eye on Danny, it would be easy for the Corinthos scion to do so in the Q mansion.

Moreover, he will have Olivia, Ned, Chase, and Brook Lynn as other adults that he can reach out to in times of need. Danny can also more easily maintain a connection with Rocco and Gio if he stays at the Quartermaine estate.

3) Tracy is fiercely protective of family

As longtime General Hospital fans know, Tracy is vigilant and territorial about the Quartermaine clan. As such, she will take good care of Danny and keep a watchful eye on him. She would not let any outsider harm Danny. Moreover, she may not let Alexis interfere in Danny’s care since, for her, Danny is a Quartermaine and thus, family.

This all-compassing protectiveness may let Jason feel secure. With Jason’s connection with the mob world and the fear of Sidwell and Cullum potentially targeting the teenager, the Quartermaine mansion may be the safest place for Danny. Moreover, Tracy will likely not entertain any funny business from Sidwell, Brennan, Cullum, and their people here.

4) Tracy believes in firm discipline

While Alexis is loving and lenient, Tracy believes in tough love. Since Danny is at an age when temptations to stray are common, he needs Tracy’s firm hand to keep him in control. Moreover, Danny’s teenage romance with Charlotte pushes him to defy rules and gravitate towards unlawful actions. He even offered to bury a body for Tracy as a joke.

As such, Tracy knows his tendency and will be hard on him if her drifts to wrong actions or associations. The Quartermaine matriarch may just provide the disciplining hand Danny needs.

5) Tracy offers access to assets and resources

The Quartermaine Gatehouse has recently been a point of reference in the Quartermaine mansion. Tracy allowed Danny to access the Gatehouse, provided the teenager left it clean. It is likely that she would also let Danny access other parts of the property if he wanted.

Moreover, Tracy is a wealthy woman holding huge financial resources and power. In the event of any untoward incident or if Jason fails to return promptly, she can care for Danny. Also, if she wants, she can secure the teenager’s future and even involve Danny in managing the estate.
