General Hospital's Ava Jerome is currently riding the high wave of satisfaction on after pulling off her plan of framing Sonny Corinthos for the attack at Pentonville. She joined hands with Drew Cain, her co-conspirator, who has a past rivalry with Sonny, just like her. However, before they could proceed with their plan against Sonny, Drew had her to give in to another or his dirty plans that led to Jack Brennan ending up dead at the Metro Court pool.
With Nina now at Steinmauer for Jack's disappearance, Jack's body buried by the Q crypt, and suspicion falling on Sonny, Ava thinks she can breathe easy (although she does feel bad about Nina), but can she?
5 Things That May Unravel Ava's Position
1) Joe's probe into Jack's disappearance

Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) recently urged his roommate, Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), to think about what he knew about Jack Brennan's (Chris McKenna) stroke. While Lucas was busy being angry with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) for misleading him when he gave her an interview, Joe told Lucas that he could unknowingly have more intel that could lead to finding the WSB agent.
If Lucas starts thinking back into what he might remember about Jack and his sudden disappearance, many things may start falling in place. If Lucas can link Jack with Ava Jerome (Maura West), the latter will be in trouble. But would Lucas want to turn in his aunt?
2) Scout's knowledge, Lulu's story and Lucas's analysis

As mentioned before, Lucas may take Joe's advice and start looking into any pieces of intel he may have about Jack's disappearance. While this may bring him to some conclusion, Lulu's explosive article is behind Joe's doubts. The article exposes many more secrets beyond what meets the eye. With Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) legally challenging the story, discovery could bring up dreaded information on Jack's whereabouts.
Ava and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) were seen talking to Sonny's henchman, Vito (Sam Duff), asking him to skip town and stay underground. Unknown to them, Drew's daughter, Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski), overheard them. Scout did not understand the discussion at the time, but may connect the dots when more intel starts tumbling out.
3) Alliance with Drew, who is not trustworthy

One of the biggest dangers for Ava would be getting in deeper with Drew, who has his own sinister agenda. While they collaborated to take down their common enemy, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Drew also took this opportunity to target some of his other enemies. He asked Ava to drug Jack, and later buried Jack's dead body with Ava's help.
As the WSB started their search for Jack, Drew framed Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) by planting Jack's wallet in her car. Ava should have considered this a red flag since Nina was a friend and Ava knew she was getting wrongly arrested. Since Ava has been tried to distance herself from the Jerome crime family and her own awful actions, getting back into crime with the corrupt former congressman Drew might be her undoing.
4) Ava's hold on Avery's custody slipping

Ava has been fighting for custoddy of the now-teenage Avery since she was born and Avery is the reason Ava wants to take down Sonny. She has taken this opportunity to keep Avery away from Sonny citing the frame-up accusation against him. However, it is a matter of time before the truth comes out into the open.
Avery may eventually learn that her mother kept her away from her father and also plotted to put her father behind bars by framing him for a crime he didn't do. This discovery will hurt Avery who may then hate Ava. This may ruin the mother-daughter relationship more than any custody battle.
5) The revelation as the real mastermind behind Curtis' injury

Lulu's article is likely to raise some questions about Jack's disappearance. Investigation by Joe and other factors may bring Drew and Ava's role to the fore. Plus, if Jack's black box throws up some clues about Drew and Willow's crimes, more may be revealed. The recent camaraderie between Drew and Ava will likely put the spotlight on Ava as well.
Meanwhile, on Sonny's insistence, his people, including Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), may try to dig into the truth about the Pentonville attacks. When Ava and Drew are revealed to be behind the attack, . If Ava's connection with the prison violence gets out, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) would cut ties with her, as may Lucas. This would leave Ava totally isolated.
