General Hospital's Ava Jerome is gearing up for trouble following her massive success in framing her longtime rival, Sonny Corinthos, in collaboration with Drew Cain. While she managed to alienate Sonny from his loved ones, Ava's alliance with Drew has many downsides, including Drew's many vendettas he drags her into. This places Ava in the crossfire of rivalries that do not connect to her. While Ava is considering lawyering up, she should reconsider her coalition with Drew.
5 Grounds for Ava to Reconsider Her Allegiance to Drew
1) Drew set up Ava to take the fall for his plans

Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has been fighting his personal fights since his recovery from the medication-induced paralysis. While he has many more enemies, he is planning covert attacks on his rivals. However, he is using his ally, Ava Jerome (Maura West), as the frontline of his attacks.
In the fiasco surrounding the death of Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), Drew used Ava to spike Jack's drink. As such, Ava is likely to bear the brunt of the PCPD's scrutiny when the investigation gains steam, as Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) has started questioning Ava. Although she has threatened to take Drew down if she is caught, Ava needs to know that Drew has made her the fall guy, keeping himself safe.
2) Secured Ava's allegiance using Sonny as the bait

Drew approached Ava to make her an ally because they both wanted to take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). However, while at it, Drew also planned to target his other enemies, without Ava's consent. As such, he forced Ava to drug Jack and later help him hide Jack's body.
Ava must understand that using Sonny as a carrot to bait her allegiance was Drew's ploy, aware of her longtime rivalry whlile trying to co-parent with the former mobster. Drew needed her as an aide while he waged personal battles and the only way to get Ava on his side would be to plan a joint attack on their common enemy.
3) Ruthlessly framed Ava's best friend

As mentioned before, Drew pressed Ava to spike Jack's drink and then help bury his body secretly. Moreover, Drew quietly planted Jack's wallet in Nina Reeves' (Cynthia Watros) car to frame her for Jack's disappearance. After Carly reported Nina having an altercation with Jack, the WSB looked into other evidence and the planted wallet became important proof for Nina's arrest.
Nina's best friend, Ava, was visibly shaken to find her friend arrested for a crime she didn't commit. When Ava confronted Drew, the latter was smug about framing Nina. He was unbothered that Nina was Ava's best friend. This shows a level of callous indifference towards his own ally that Ava should be careful about.
4) Proven history of betrayals and chaos

As longtime GH fans know, the heroic persona of the former Navy SEAL, Drew Cain, has given way to a shrewd politician, back-stabber, and criminal strategist. The past few years have seen Drew betray his nephew to have an affair with the latter's wife. He also used his family name, Quartermaine, to gain political advantage. He's even called the police on Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) over their differences.
Drew also turned on his best friend, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), and blackmailed Curtis's wife. Currently, Drew has more enemies than allies. This should be a red flag for Ava, alerting her about Drew's tendency toward betrayals. He may throw Ava under the bus any day to secure himself.
5) Jack's burial, Scout's eavesdropping, and Jason's sleuthing factors

As mentioned before, Ava spiked Jack's drink and later, she and Drew found Jack dead. They buried Jack in the nature reserve near the Quartermaine crypt. As a result, Ava had a tick lodged in her neck. With the PCPD investigating Jack's disappearance, and zeroing in on Ava as the last person to see him alive, when Jack's body is discovered, Ava will be in some serious trouble. Whether Drew steps forward to help Ava out of the mess remains to be seen.
On the other hand, Sonny has asked his former right-hand man, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to locate the person who framed Sonny. Soon, Jason's sources will reveal Ava and Drew to be the culprits. At the same time, Drew's daughter, Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski), overheard Ava and Drew talking to the instigator of the Pentonville violence. All these factors may draw attention towards Ava. Whether Drew protects her or uses her as a scapegoat remains to be seen.
