The GH storyline presented a surprise turn of events when Cassius Faison abducted the nosey Josslyn Jacks and held her in the basement of Wyndemere. To add to the twist, Cassius opened up to Joss about being the fake “Nathan” and the reason behind it. While Josslyn showed her WSB training by uncovering Anna’s presence, tampering with the castle’s electricity and picking her lock, she was caught by Sidwell.
However, before Sidwell could shoot her in his living room, Cassius arrived and saved her. He convinced Sidwell to let Joss live while locking her back again. He refused to let her go or join her in her escape plans. Whether Josslyn should take Cassius’ word or worry about a big betrayal remains to be seen.
5 arguments backing Josslyn’s trust in Cassius on GH
1) Best shot at survival

As GH fans know, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) went around enquiring about Faison to all and sundry, raising doubts. She continued a covert investigation of her own despite being turned into a sleeper agent. While Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) ignored her initially, he learned about her WSB connection from Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). As such, he kidnapped her and held her in an underground cell.
As he told her, Cassius held Joss hostage to keep her away from danger from Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). So far, Cullum is unaware of her WSB linkage, her questions about Faison and her whereabouts. No sooner did he find out about her than he tried to eliminate her. Moreover, Cassius actively saved Joss from being shot by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). As such, he may be her best bet at staying alive.
2) Emotional vulnerability

While Josslyn behaves like a trained WSB agent and suspects every word or move of Cassius, he has shown his vulnerability to her. He honestly opened up to her about his true identity and his purpose. Moreover, he shared his guilt at fooling everyone in town by playing “Nathan”.
As a captor, Cassius’s need to share his personal life and feelings with Josslyn shows his growing emotional transparency and trust in her. He also revealed his displeasure about his current stance and his desire to break free. As such, when he promised that they must collaborate to gain their freedom, Josslyn must have faith in him.
3) Possible redemption arc

As mentioned before, Cassius opened up to Josslyn about disliking the fact that he was pretending in his various relationships. As GH viewers know, Cassius fell in love with Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) but could not expose his true self as the fake Nathan. Moreover, he became extremely fond of James (Gary James Fuller) and was amazed by the amount of love and respect he garnered in his false identity. This opens up the possibility of a redemption for the grey character.
By saving Josslyn, Cassius may be walking his path to salvation. Moreover, Joss may help him achieve the same by trusting him and falling in with his plans. She may offer the option of pulling Faison’s heir out of the dark legacy by offering love.
4) Family protection subplot

As GH fans already know, despite being unhappy about his position on the dark side, Cassius is siding with the villains to protect his sister, Britt. He knows that Sidwell and Cullum are their hope for Britt’s Huntington's medication, and their rebellion will mean Britt dies. Cassius has explained the reason for his stance to Josslyn.
Josslyn likely appreciates these feelings. She fiercely loves her family and respects familial love. She stood up to Sonny and Valentin to keep her mother safe. This may be a common ground between her and Cassius to bond over.
5) Onscreen energy and chemistry

GH viewers have noticed the growing chemistry between Cassius and Josslyn. The forced proximity of a captor and his victim has given them a high-energy interaction. While it may seem to have a Stockholm syndrome vibe, the enemies turning into allies is an interesting storyline.
Moreover, both are currently single with their past relationships ending in uncertainty. While Lulu and Cassius called off their romance over differences, Josslyn lost sight of Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) after their boss had the latter moved out of town. As such, both may be ready to move on with someone they find common ground with.
5 reasons Cassius may betray Josslyn on GH
1) Master manipulator and captor

Cassius Faison has been raised for the sole purpose of helping with the Faison project. Kept a secret from even his mother, Cassius is currently going around in Port Charles pretending to be his heroic twin, Nathan West, back-from-the-dead. That makes him a master manipulator.
He has fooled all people who knew Nathan, such as Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). He has also developed a loving father-son bond with Nathan’s son, James. Moreover, he fell in love with Lulu and asked Maxie’s permission, pretending to be a loyal husband, to pursue the romance. Additionally, he managed to hack into the PCPD database to steal the dead cop’s identity. As a savvy WSB agent, Josslyn should be wary of someone who can deceive so easily.
2) The Faison genetics

As mentioned before, Cassius was secretly raised as a backup plan by his father, Faison (Anders Hove), for the purpose of his projects. Faison ensured that Cassius was exposed to only the dark traits of his father by keeping him away from his mother and his “golden boy” twin.
As such, Cassius had no opportunity to imbibe any of Nathan's positive qualities. While he saw the level of respect Nathan commanded for being upright, nice and fair, whether Cassius ever feels these qualities in his heart is up for debate. With both Faison’s genes and his upbringing running in his veins, whether Cassius will ever be the reliable person Josslyn can depend on remains to be seen.
3) Unholy alliances and influences

In an extension of the previous argument, besides being raised by a villainous father for the sole purpose of being used for the advantage of a sinister project, Cassius is also in contact with villains of Port Charles. As mentioned before, in his current position, Cassius is pretending to be Detective Nathan West to infiltrate PCPD and stay close to Commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). He is working in collusion with mobster Sidwell and WSB Director Cullum.
While Sidwell wants to eliminate Josslyn, Cullum is as yet unaware of her WSB connection and her captivity in Wyndemere. Although Cassius seems to be keeping Josslyn alive, whether he would put himself in harm’s way for her if Sidwell and Cullum command to kill off Josslyn remains to be seen.
4) Josslyn may become a liability

Cassius may view Josslyn as a liability for two reasons. First, Josslyn is a WSB rookie and may not have much power. Judging her unimportant, Cassius revealed his true identity in front of her. However, after her attempted escape, Cassius may consider her a danger to his secret since she may spill the beans if she makes it out. That makes Josslyn a liability that Cassius may not entertain.
The other reason might be the ghost of Lulu’s love. As GH fans know, Cassius stepped into Nathan’s role but fell genuinely in love with Lulu. While they have called off their romance, moving on with a WSB rookie whom he kidnapped may not be his idea of dating. If Josslyn develops romantic feelings for him, Cassius may find it a problem.
5) Collapse of a redemption arc

Cassius’s redemption is based on the assumption that he is really looking for a way out, as he claims. However, he is a manipulator and a great actor, which renders his claims doubtful. Moreover, some cues question his claims of redemption. First, he kidnapped Josslyn after choking her till she lost consciousness, and held her hostage in the basement room of Wyndemere.
While he saved Josslyn from Sidwell’s bullets, he refused to let her go. Even when Joss offered to go to WSB to help them, he rejected the escape route for both of them. Lastly, he explained his actions by pointing out that he is deeply embedded in the criminal world with no option of ever being forgiven. However, it also means that he may be committed to darkness and reluctant to change for the better.
