Trina Robinson, played by Tabyana Ali, is caught in the fallout surrounding her family after the confrontation between her father, Curtis Ashford, and her mother's boyfriend, Isaiah Gannon, escalated into a legal battle. With Curtis punching Isaiah and the latter ending up with a fractured hand, the DA's office decided to move against Curtis. On one hand, Jordan tried to help keep Curtis out of prison, while on the other, Portia backed Isaiah's version of events despite knowing he provoked Curtis. However, with Dr. Isaiah badly injured, many of his patients, including little Derek, suffer as he can't operate on them as scheduled.
Although Trina has tried to convince Isaiah to forgive Curtis, she remains devastated that Derek missed his treatment. Moreover, with a battle between Curtis and Portia, Trina is the most affected.
5 grounds for Trina to avoid meddling in her parents’ issue on GH
1) Escalated legal trouble

As GH fans know, Trina has always been the type to step in and try to keep the peace. However, she must stay away. Since the DA's office is moving forward with a case against Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) for physically assaulting Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson), the situation is far different from the family disputes Trina is used to helping resolve.
With the situation now escalating into a legal battle, hauling Curtis to prison for destroying a surgeon's career, Trina must stay away for her own good. If she is found trying to influence Isaiah into taking back his complaint, she may get dragged into a legal mess.
2) Protecting her own peace

As GH viewers have seen, Trina often tries to play peacemaker. Sometimes, however, she gets pulled into the drama and takes sides, such as when she blamed Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) for her parents' separation when the blame largely rested with her mother, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
As such, to protect her own peace, Trina needs to stick to her life, which involves her education, relationship with Kai, and her upcoming musical career. She must let the adults make their own decisions and accept the consequences of the same.
3) Handling trust issues

In the past, Trina has struggled with trust issues where her mother was concerned, as Portia kept many secrets from her, including the truth about her paternity. It took Trina a long time to forgive her mother. This time, her father, Curtis, is acting on an assumption while her mother, Portia, is defending Isaiah by backing his version of events.
If Trina inserts herself into this latest conflict, she may reopen her recently healed wounds. Moreover, she may find herself vulnerable to being hurt by her parents lying and keeping secrets again. If she gets hurt again, those relationships may be permanently damaged.
4) Moral struggles

As of now, Trina does not have a complete picture of what went down between the adults. Believing her father was in trouble over what seemed like a minor mistake, Trina asked Isaiah to forgive Curtis. However, she soon learned that her father's attack left the surgeon's dominant hand with multiple fractures. As a result, many patients missed their scheduled surgeries, including Derek, who may die if his treatment is delayed.
Trina realized the moral dilemma of backing her father while Derek fights for his life. The pressure of trying to solve the problems between her parents and their respective partners left her exhausted.
5) Mystery versus boundaries

As mentioned before, Trina is still unaware of the full truth. On one hand, the real “other driver” has not yet been revealed, while on the other, both Curtis and Isaiah are telling convenient versions of events to justify their positions. Interfering or defending either of her parents while a police investigation is ongoing could draw her deeper into the case.
Moreover, Trina already overstepped her boundaries when asking Isaiah to show mercy after Portia refused to listen. Since she does not know exactly what transpired between the two men, she must step away from the messy situation instead of pushing boundaries any further.
5 arguments favoring Trina’s mediation in her parents’ matters on GH
1) Trina is the voice of reason

As GH fans have seen in the past, for years, Trina has been the stable and reasonable voice within the Ashford-Robinson family. Since both her parents tend to act rashly, she pushes them to put their pride aside. Her maturity has helped save the family from threatened relationships in the past.
Again, Portia and Curtis are behaving stubbornly. While Curtis is reluctant to give Isaiah the benefit of the doubt because of his personal dislike of him, Portia is ready to stand by the doctor despite his lack of transparency. With Jordan unable to bridge the divide, Trina may appeal to her parents emotionally to climb down from their rigid pedestals and do the right thing.
2) Protecting mother and the baby

As GH viewers have seen, Trina is excited about her mother's pregnancy and went out of her way to prepare for her baby sibling. She brought the family together and celebrated both the baby and her mother.
Unfortunately, the current situation threatens to add to Portia's stress, potentially putting the pregnancy at risk. Realizing how this may affect her baby sibling, Trina may consider intervening and bringing the situation back under control. She may urge Curtis to compromise while encouraging Portia and Isaiah not to pursue the matter further. She may even encourage Portia to stay detached from the legal battle to keep the baby safe.
3) Preventing legal disaster

As GH fans know, Curtis is going to be charged with felony assault. If convicted, this may land him in prison. While Curtis wants to be present when his baby is born, Portia is backing Isaiah's claims with little regard for Curtis's wishes as the father. As such, the legal battle may take a chaotic turn.
However, Trina's voice of reason may help solve some of the issues. If she can convince her mother to help push for a resolution, she can de-escalate matters before Pentonville becomes a real possibility. Moreover, she may lean on any connections she has to help the case. Whether she decides to reach out to Sonny, Ava, or Josslyn remains to be seen.
4) Balancing act between Jordan and Isaiah

While Trina is very close to her father, she has also developed a strong bond with Isaiah. Although she believes her father was hurt by her mother's affair, she also realizes the consequences of Curtis's attack on Isaiah and the resulting medical complications. As such, she may use her unique relationship with both men to bring peace between them.
On the other hand, in the past, Trina misunderstood Jordan's relationship with Curtis, blaming her for her parents' separation. However, after learning the truth, she apologized to Jordan. Now, she understands the important role the former DEA agent plays in Curtis's life. As such, Trina may encourage everyone to respect boundaries to prevent any more resentment.
5) Breaking the cycle of mistrust

As longtime GH viewers know, Portia and Curtis's marriage ended because of secrets and withheld truths. Previously, Trina and her mother experienced friction because of the latter's lies. Since Trina has been the biggest victim of a relationship built on secrets, she may insist that her parents stop hiding the truth.
She may ask her parents to face the truth instead of hiding things and sweeping them under the rug. Moreover, she may invite Jordan and Isaiah to be more open and transparent in their relationships moving forward.
