General Hospital's Lulu Spencer got quite the scoop when she interviewed a post-op and drugged-up Jenz Sidwell. As the groggy mobster rambled the name of Congresswoman Willow Tait, Lulu latched on to the story.
After recording Sidwell, Lulu met Willow's victim, Drew Cain, and chatted him up. She also discussed with Drew's miraculous recovery with Dr. Lucas Jones and Nurse Elizabeth Webber, learning more about the surprising medical case of two patients having stroke in the same house and recovering in surprising ways. Based on her investigation, Lulu published her story accusing Willow.
As Port Charles took in the unprecedented story, Harrison Chase blamed his wife and her family for instigating and driving a smear campaign against Willow. As such, he offered to help Willow sue Lulu for printing what he seems to deem fake news.
5 Ways GH's Lulu May Outsmart Willow's Counter-Attack
1) Lulu's investigative drive is indomitable

Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) is a driven reporter who doesn't do things halfway. She is known for showing courage in taking up challenging issues and doing a thorough examination before getting any story out. As Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) openly admitted, Lulu's readers believe in the authenticity of her claims.
If Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) claims that Lulu's story may be false and tries to sue her, it may only spur Lulu into more action. The enthusiastic journalist may dig deeper, which will eventually throw up more revelations that Willow doesn't want known.
2) Lulu has medical evidence and the recording

As GH fans already know, Lulu stole Felicia Scorpio's (Kristina Wagner) ID to enter Sidwell's room and interviewed him. She also recorded the conversation in her mobile phone. Based on the intel, she conducted further investigation by having a talk with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Next, Lulu chatted up Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). From them she realized how rare a situation it was that two "locked-in" patients, Drew and Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), had their strokes in Willow's house. Moreover, both the patients fully recovered from their strokes. Lulu connected the dots to get her story. Even if Sidwell or Drew deny the story as false, the General Hospital staff would not do so.
3) Focusing on it would make Willow look guilty

When Lulu's story was published, Willow was forced to admit the facts before Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) rushed in to help Willow handle this situation, Britt advised that they let the situation alone and it would die down. However, Chase insisted that the Quartermaine family was behind this mud-slinging and Willow must clear her name.
While Chase is determined that Willow must sue Lulu for defamation, the congresswoman is aware that a court case would garner much attention. As Britt pointed out, very few people trust mobster Sidwell's words. However, if a sitting congresswoman challenges a journalist for writing a slanderous piece on the basis of a mobster's words, the public may think otherwise. They may believe that there may be some truth in the story and Willow has a reason to cover it up.
4) Lulu has more than the story to back her side

Chase wants Willow to sue Lulu for the libel, since he thinks a perfect person like Willow cannot commit such heinous crimes. If Willow considers Chase's advice only to keep her reputation intact in his eyes, she may end up biting off more than she can chew. Currently, Lulu has written an article based on evidence in a phone recording, a conversation with Drew and discussions with Lucas and Elizabeth.
If sued, she may have more ammunition to fight. Lulu doesn't yet know that Willow shot Drew, but others do and may give her that information as a way to fight her case.
5) Following the money and the drug may bust Willow

As already discussed here, Lulu is a smart and meticulous journalist. Before writing her piece, she did due diligence in checking multiple sources and joining the dots. However, if Willow challenges her, and Sidwell denies the story, Lulu will have the recording and Lucas and Liz to back her story. If Drew Cain refuses to cooperate or asks Lulu not to use the recording in court, the savvy journalist would look for other ways to support her story.
Perhaps she dig \into the paralytic drug that Sidwell mentioned. Since former WSB agent, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), has already admitted that the spy organization has such a drug, Lulu may ask PCPD to look into it. Moreover, she may ask Dante to follow whatever connects Sidwell and Willow. If the favors Congresswoman Tait did for Sidwell come into the open, the rest of her secret will likely tumble out. That would become the death knell on Willow's reputation.
