5 Reasons Trina and Gio's Friendship Might Fail on General Hospital

The personal and professional bond between General Hospital’s Trina Robinson and Gio Palmieri is poised for a collapse. As viewers know, Curtis Ashford’s search for the “other driver” in Jordan’s car accident fiasco, and his subsequent friction with Isaiah Gannon, landed Curtis in a jail cell.

However, the identity of the real “other driver” remained a mystery until recently. With Detective Chase pursuing Lucy Coe for the truth, Brook Lynn’s possible presence on the same route at the same time has been exposed.

A shocked Trina has now accused Brook Lynn of leaving her father and Jordan to die in front of the Qs and Gio. Moreover, Simon’s interference in their performances and Trina’s secret stalker will likely cause more problems. Can they weather the storm if the below happens?

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) overheard Chase and Brook Lynn talking and jumped to the conclusion that the latter was the driver who drove away after Jordan’s car crashed. As she accuses BLQ, her son, Gio (Giovanni Mazza), will likely defend his mother. This may strain Gio and Trina’s friendship as they find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was fixated on proving the "other driver" as Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson). Consumed by his anger, Curtis assaulted Isaiah and landed in prison. However, Trina may feel that Brook Lynn might have helped by coming forward and taking the focus off Isaiah, which could have saved Curtis from the possibility of a decade-long imprisonment.

If BLQ does not have a plausible explanation for not coming forward and changing the course of events, Trina may be too upset to work with her. This would put a stop to Gio’s musical career as well as ruin their association.

Recently, General Hospital viewers have witnessed a stalker keeping an eye on Trina. In an undisclosed location, the stalker tampers with Trina’s digital photographs. While the stalker has not yet made a malicious move on her except deleting other people from Trina’s photos, they may do something soon.

If the stalker's obsession targets people around Trina, that would include Gio. If Gio is forcefully distanced from Trina or is harmed in any way, the friendship between the two may come to an end.

To boost their musical career, Brook Lynn roped in music executive, Simon Craft (Grady Eldridge). Simon has been promoting Trina and Gio as a couple and asked them to fake it. Unfortunately, he has been behaving creepily in his professional role.

While he asked Trina’s boyfriend to never get in the way of her talent, he kept calling Trina the budding star, while sidelining Gio. So far Gio has not reacted to Simon’s weirdness, but he may soon find this biased attitude too much to handle. As such, Gio may dissolve his friendship with Trina and maintain the bare minimum professional connection.

5) Emma, Kai and Charlotte factors

As mentioned before, Simon warned Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) against interfering in Trina’s musical career. This may come across as strange since Kai encouraged Trina to take up music. Moreover, despite knowing that the recording label was promoting Trina and Gio as a couple, Kai remained understanding. However, with Simon’s interference, Kai may feel upset about the whole arrangement. He may encourage Trina to maintain a distance from Gio in her personal life.

At the same time, Gio’s girlfriend, Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner), has noticed how his musical career is leaving them with less time for themselves. As such, she may ask for more attention and stop him from spending too much time with Trina. Elsewhere, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) was shown to have a crush on Gio. With so many complications going on in their personal lives, Gio and Trina’s friendship is bound to fizzle out.
