5 Setbacks for GH's Carly If Her Romance With Valentin Takes a Hit
1) The genuine feeling of true love and emotional security

Although it began as a rebound after she was lied to and betrayed by Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) caught genuine feelings for Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). While a slow burn romance, it came as a surprise to both lovers and their families and friends. However, as seen recently, Carly was hurt when she found Valentin consoling Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and uncomfortably dodged Lucas Jones's (Van Hansis) questions related to her love life.
Since the love bug seems to have bitten Carly badly, she will be genuinely heartbroken if her relationship abruptly ends. While she was reluctant to openly confess to her love and may lean on her friendship with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), she may miss the adulation and romance that she shared with Valentin.
2) Respect of being a strong, intellectual partner

As fans have noticed, Carly has a special place in her heart for Valentin since he respects her. While Carly has always been a headstrong woman with a mind of her own, all men in her life, from Jason and Sonny to Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), have felt the desire to control her and protect her. However, Valentin treats her as an equal and doesn't swoop in to protect her. On the contrary, he was seen taking advice from her, a pleasant surprise for her.
For the first time in her various romantic relationships, Carly feels like an equal partner. Moreover, Valentin considers her a resourceful and strong woman. He values her opinions and shares his worries with her. If Carly and Valentin break up, she would miss this sense of importance in a relationship.
3) Backup support in helping Sonny through his latest situation

Sonny is now the victim in a conspiracy that may impact everyone connected to him. Since Carly has had a long association with Sonny, she may not escape being singed by this fire. At such a time, she may lean on Valentin, who has no connection with the mob, but has immense wealth and connection to help Carly, and even, Sonny. Recently, Valentin was also seen extending a friendly hand to Carly's longtime friend, Jason.
Since Jason may want to step in to save Sonny while Carly may feel upset about the former mob boss's predicament, she might consider requesting Valentin to collaborate with Jason and help the situation. However, if the romantic couple calls it quits, Carly may not be able to ask for Valentin's support.
4) Alibi in Jack's murder mystery

After finding Jack Brennan's dead body floating in the Metro Court pool, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) dragged the body away secretly and buried it near the Quartermaine crypt. Since Carly is the owner of The Metro Court, she was the first target of interrogation in Jack's disappearance. Her past romantic relationship with Jack also put Carly in the line of suspects.
However, Carly has long since broken up with Jack and pointed the finger at Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who had a public fight with the missing WSB agent. As the investigation continues, Carly may be questioned again. Valentin can help her navigate a WSB interrogation. However, without Valentin's backing, Carly may find her positioning weakening.
5) Indirect support for Josslyn's WSB connection

Carly's daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), joined the WSB as an agent recruited by Jack Brennan. Carly disapproves of Joss's decision but has relented to let her live her life on her terms. While Carly is worried that Joss will turn out like Anna, Valentin, an ex-WSB, dismissed her fears. Moreover, Jason assured Carly that Joss has different qualities and may turn out stronger.
However, Carly feels that having Valentin's backing during tense times within the WSB may be a safe option for Josslyn. She knows that Valentin would step in to help Josslyn even though the latter disliked him. Since Valentin knows the inner workings of the spy organization, their breakup may leave Carly feeling apprehensive about Josslyn's safety.
