Mystery is taking a chaotic turn on General Hospital, as too many Port Charles residents are involved in the Jack Brennan disappearance case. The real culprits, Drew Cain and Ava Jerome, are busy covering up for their role in burying Jack's dead body. At the same time, Detective Joe Fitzpatrick is officially investigating the disappearance.

Plus, Lulu Spencer released an exposé about Willow Tait that referenced Jack Brennan. Since Willow, Drew, and the source of Lulu's story, Jenz Sidwell, all deny the allegations, Valentin Cassadine and Carly Spencer decided to investigate in parallel to find Jack's body. This may pose a problem for them in the coming days.

5 Ways GH's Carly and Valentin's Probe into Jack May Bite Them Back

1) Carly and Valentin are looking in the wrong direction

As GH fans know, Ava Jerome (Maura West) spiked Jack Brennan's (Chris McKenna) drink to help Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). When Jack was found dead, Ava and Drew secretly rolled his body away and buried it in the nature reserve. However, before that, Drew had disabled the security cameras, leaving no trace of their questionable actions.

As Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) looked into the security footage again, she found found Danny and Charlotte were there thay night. Staff also reported seeing Ava having a drink with Jack. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) guessed that Jack had died, and he and Carly deduced that Ava may have had an accomplice in doing away with Jack. Since Ava is a good friend of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), the amateur sleuths zeroed in on Nina as Ava's accomplice. While viewers know Nina was innocent and framed by Drew, Carly, and Valentin may pursue the wrong angle to their detriment.

2) The hotel's security footage missed Drew

Although Carly has been scrutinizing the Metro Court Hotel's security footage for some hints, the footage has not caught Drew Cain anywhere. While fans know Drew was there and he hacked the hotel security system to help him search Jack's room, the cameras missed him. As such, he remains the hidden danger for the sleuths.

If Drew discovers that Carly and Valentin are digging into the Jack disappearance case, the former congressman would want to take action. And since Carly and Valentin will be blindsided about Drew's involvement, they may focus on Ava and Nina while Drew plans to target them.

3) They may drag Danny based on security footage

Recently, while going through the security footage, Carly noticed Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) caught on the camera before Jack's disappearance. As such, Carly reached out to share this news with Valentin. Together, they may want to ask Danny what he and Charlotte were doing at the hotel so late in the evening.

While there is a danger that Danny hides the truth, he may spill it out under pressure. However, even if Carly and Valentin learn that Danny and Charlotte were the first to find Jack dead, it may still not help them locate the body. On the contrary, bringing Danny and Charlotte to the front may affect the teenagers adversely. Moreover, if Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) learns about this, she may kick up a furor over her daughter's peril.

4) Joe's investigation, the WSB cover-up, and other factors

As mentioned before, too many factions are connected to the Jack Brennan disappearance case. Lulu's explosive story on the nexus between Congresswoman Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), and a paralytic drug from the WSB, has put all the involved parties scrambling to negate the matter.

At the same time, Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) has taken it upon himself to solve the mystery. As such, Joe has sought permission from his boss, Commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), to carry on his investigation into Jack's disappearance. Elsewhere, Drew and Ava will try underhand methods to shut down the investigation. Carly and Valentin may get caught in the crossfire among all the warring factions.

5) Last location, security breach and the laundry cart mess

The search for Jack started from the Metro Court Hotel, where the now-deceased agent was last seen. Since Carly is the owner of Metro Court, she was the first to be interrogated by both the WSB and the PCPD. She also let the authorities know about the security breach at the hotel, leaving her with hours of security footage missing at the time of Jack's disappearance.

While Carly herself is unravelling some small clues from the mystery, from the PCPD or WSB point of view, she may still look guilty. To add to this suspicion, if the laundry cart that carried Jack's dead body is discovered, it may reflect negatively on Carly. Despite being innocent and cooperative, Carly may come under legal scrutiny, ruining her reputation and her own sleuthing in the coming days.
