5 Ways Drew’s Revenge on Nina Could Backfire on General Hospital

A malicious ploy is underway on General Hospital, as Drew Cain found a way to pay Nina back for shoving him and his weelchair into the lake. Drew wanted to take out his revenge then, but Jack Brennan blackmailed him with evidence of Drew's campaign finance violations.

When Ava and Drew found Jack dead and went to bury his body, Drew swiped Jack's wallet without Ava's knowledge. He then proceeded to plant Jack’s wallet in Nina’s car to frame her for Jack’s disappearance. Whether his plan succeeds or fails remains to be seen.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) made a quick decision and informed the WSB about Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) having gone missing. Now, there will be a search and a related investigation into the missing agent. As soon as they look into Jack’s last known location, they will find that he was at the Metro Court Hotel.

A look into the retrieved security camera footage from the restaurant, before the malware destroyed the recordings, may show Jack meeting with Ava Jerome (Maura West). As such, she may be questioned as the last person who saw Jack. Whether the footage discloses that Ava slipped something in Jack’s drink, remains to be seen.

2) Ava might snitch

As Ava threatened her partner in crime, Drew, she may proceed to take him down, if she gets caught. Ava did not want to get involved with the WSB. However, Drew convinced her to pitch in as a favor to him. As such, Ava slipped the sleeping pill that Drew provided into Jack’s drink. After Jack’s dead body was found at the pool, Ava and Drew decided to bury the body in the nature reserve by the Q crypt.

However, there is always the danger of Ava blabbing or turning on Drew. If caught or interrogated, Ava may not want to be the sole suspect in this foul play alone. As such, she may point her finger at Drew, derailing his revenge plan.

The main friction between Jack and Drew was about the latter’s corruption while he held his political seat as a congressman. Initially, Jack had promised the intel to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). However, Willow and Drew made a pact to remain quiet about each other’s crimes. As such, when Jack heard Drew's attitude with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), he threatened to expose the dirt.

Realizing the danger of being tried and sent to prison for fund misappropriation, Drew tried to steal the evidence from Jack’s room. However, he failed to retrieve it. If Jack’s black box is opened, that may reveal the dirt. That would implicate Drew, giving him a reason to target Jack, unlike Nina, who was in a romantic relationship with Jack.

4) Nina may have an airtight alibi

As mentioned before, Drew planted Jack’s wallet in Nina’s car, hoping to frame her for Jack’s disappearance. As such, if the item is discovered, Nina will be interrogated. It is a fact that Nina was dating Jack and had no reason for foul play against him. Moreover, there is a likelihood that Nina can produce irrefutable proof that places her far from Jack.

If her alibi clears her of any contact with Jack since he was last seen or heard from, the planted evidence may not make sense. On the contrary, this may seem like foul play involving a framed victim. As such, the investigation will likely look at other suspects, including Drew.

5) Sidwell still knows all about Drew

Drew actively collaborated with mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), before the latter was arrested and imprisoned. Willow paralyzed Drew using drugs with Sidwell’s help. After Sidwell’s arrest, Drew recovered and has been on a revenge rampage.

While Drew may try to frame Nina in connection with Jack's disappearance, Sidwell knows all about Drew and his corrupt past. The mobster had already supplied the paralytic drugs that kept Drew “locked-in”. With no loyalty between them, Sidwell may disclose Drew’s corrupt ways and criminal inclinations. That would put Drew on the radar again.
