General Hospital recently presented an unexpected turn in the storyline with Curtis Ashford physically assaulting Isaiah Gannon. While the two men connected to Portia and Jordan have been showing their dislike for each other for the past many months, they left it cloaked in civility. However, Friday, May 15, 2026, saw their altercation escalate. The scenario found Curtis walking into Isaiah and Portia’s date dinner.
As Curtis showed possessiveness towards his and Portia’s baby, Isaiah stood up to the bullying from his nemesis. While the latter baited him by declaring himself a better father, Curtis punched the doctor, making him fall over and fracture his hand. Later, Curtis was arrested, and Isaiah was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
5 arguments that justify Curtis’s behaviour with Isaiah on General Hospital
1) Curtis mistrusts Isaiah

Since Isaiah arrived in Port Charles in 2024, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has held a distrust for the doctor. Viewers may remember that Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) landed in town as a severely injured and unconscious person. His arrival was connected to a search for Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and their connection with mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Curtis believes no connection of Lucky’s can be clean, even if they are doctors. While Isaiah later proved to be a skillful surgeon and joined the hospital, Curtis did not trust him. To add to his issues, his wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), started having an affair with Isaiah.
2) Jealousy over Portia and the baby

While Portia’s lies about tampering with the lab results and her blackmail by Congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) destroyed their marriage, Curtis did not expect Portia to have an extramarital affair. However, while testifying about her alibi in a court case, Portia revealed her affair, leaving Curtis stunned.
Moreover, Portia found herself pregnant and was unsure about the father of her baby. After much insistence from Curtis, she had a paternity test done, and Curtis was found to be the biological father. At the same time, the couple decided to separate to commit to other relationships. However, Curtis continues to be jealous of Portia’s romance with Isaiah, despite dating Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) himself.
3) Mystery surrounding Isaiah and his movements

As mentioned before, Isaiah arrived in Port Charles in 2024. As such, not much is known about his past or his association with Lucky. While the town has accepted the skilled surgeon, Curtis remains skeptical about him.
To add to his worries, Isaiah was on the road on the night Jordan met with her accident. While General Hospital fans know that he was at Lulu’s place to take care of Rocco’s injury, he is bound by HIPAA laws to remain quiet. As such, Isaiah is not coming clean about his movements. This leaves Curtis suspicious about his involvement in the said accident.
4) Curtis’s instincts as a PI

While Curtis is an astute businessman and a smart media and corporate person, he tends to rely on his instincts. As a former PI, he sometimes uses his hunch over logic to decipher danger, particularly when logic does not work.
As such, with both Jordan and Portia’s involvement with Isaiah and the doctor’s secrecy about his past and his current movements, Curtis’s judgement is clouded. Expectedly, he is going by his PI instincts that may consider Isaiah a threat. Moreover, the latter baited Curtis with insults, turning him hostile.
5) Anger over Jordan’s trauma

As General Hospital fans have noticed, Jordan is traumatized by the accident and concerned about the change in her looks. She has been brooding and refuses to expose herself to the outer world. Curtis, who stays close to her, is the prime witness of Jordan’s ordeal. As such, his concern for Jordan has changed into an obsessive wrath for the perpetrator of the accident.
Since Isaiah refused to present any details or explanation on his whereabouts on the night of Jordan’s accident, Curtis is convinced that he is the “other driver”. Expectedly, Curtis is spewing his anger on Isaiah, whom he believes to be the cause of Jordan’s suffering.
General Hospital: 5 reasons Curtis’s actions are becoming inexcusable
1) Severe assault may affect Isaiah’s career

While Curtis’s anger towards Isaiah may be understandable, there is no denying the fact that his actions have been offensive. Not only did he accuse the doctor without any evidence, but he also assaulted the latter in public.
Moreover, Curtis let all his anger towards Isaiah come out in the force of his blow. As viewers have seen, this strike threw the doctor to the ground, fracturing his dominant hand and damaging his tendons. Unable to use his dominant hand with steadiness translates to a lost career for a surgeon. With Isaiah, Port Charles’ General Hospital loses a competent doctor.
2) Curtis’s hypocritical honesty

As a clever media person, Curtis must know the importance of evidence. Although ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor) told him that there was no proper evidence to charge Isaiah with, Curtis is reluctant to let go of his suspicion. However, blatant and public accusations and assault was uncalled for.
Moreover, General Hospital viewers have seen Curtis rooting for honesty and transparency but failing to follow it himself. One example is his lingering feelings for Jordan while getting angry with Portia for having an extramarital affair. While he abandoned his wife over their fallout on lies and secrets, he wanted Isaiah to stay away from Portia.
3) Shifting blame and delusional victimhood

In an extension of the previous point, Curtis displayed pointless suspicion even when ADA Turner informed him about a lack of evidence. While he was responsible for Jordan’s accident, since he distracted her on the road by trying to kiss her, he continued to blame the “other driver”. He went on a “witch-hunt” kind of spree to look for the driver who did not stop.
Instead of accepting that Jordan was responsible for averting her eyes, Curtis has continued to look for a shoulder to dump the blame for Jordan’s struggle. Moreover, as soon as he learned about Isaiah being on the same route, he latched onto the doctor without looking into any other possibility.
4) Displaced jealousy and possessiveness

As mentioned before, Curtis continues to feel jealous of Isaiah and Portia’s romance despite dumping his wife over secrecies himself. Moreover, he went back to his former wife, who incidentally was also briefly involved with Isaiah. Despite this neat arrangement of relationships, Curtis seems unhappy that Portia has moved on from him.
Although Portia and Curtis were transitioning from being a couple to getting a divorce, the unborn baby turned out to be Curtis’s. After the divorce, Portia received love and attention from Isaiah, leading Curtis to feel misplaced jealousy. However, Curtis continued to feel possessive about his baby, forbidding Isaiah from accompanying Portia for checkups or feeling the baby kick.
5) Interfering with justice

In his early years, Curtis displayed an upright image. Although involved in some shady affairs due to his investigative work profile, he followed a basic righteousness. However, recent years have seen a decline in his morals, although he preaches that others follow them.
GH viewers were shocked to learn that Curtis has paid Selina Wu (Lydia Look) to take down Drew Cain, something quite out of character. Recently, he was seen interfering with investigative work on the accident by pressurizing Turner to arrest Isaiah. Even after his arrest for hitting the doctor, he tried to convince Commissioner Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) to cut a deal and wipe out the case.
