Rocco Falconeri is facing a grave situation in the current General Hospital storyline. As viewers know, he followed Britt to the piers and saw Cullum trying to clobber Jason during a fight. The terrified teenager picked up Cullum’s gun and shot him in the back. While Jason took the blame to save Rocco, Cullum figured out that Jason was not the shooter. Besides Jason, Cassius, and Lulu, only a few people knew the truth. However, Rocco later confided in Britt, while Elizabeth informed Dante about Rocco’s injured hand, leading them both to realize that Rocco was the shooter. Dante was later seen reaching out to his son and assuring him that he would protect him.

5 steps Dante may take to protect Rocco on General Hospital

1) Burying all evidence

As fans have recently witnessed, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is determined to protect his son, even at the cost of bending his morals. In Friday’s episode, dated May 15, 2026, he shared his mindset with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), revealing his willingness to go to any lengths to protect Rocco (Finn Carr).

As such, Commissioner Dante may want to destroy all evidence from the Cullum shooting case that could incriminate Rocco. He may pretend to have nothing on his hands when Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) asks for proof. Whether he comes up with an excuse for the lack of evidence or manufactures fake proof remains to be seen.

2) Partnering with Sonny and Brick

So far, only a select few know that Rocco was involved in Cullum’s shooting. That does not include Rocco’s grandfather, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). If Dante finds himself cornered, he may reach out to his father for help. Sonny may help hide Rocco away from Cullum’s prying eyes or use the Corinthos organization to create chaos.

Moreover, Sonny may reach out to Brick (Stephen A. Smith). With Brick’s help, Dante may dig into Cullum’s past or uncover transactions that may expose him as a corrupt agent. Brick could also look into Cullum’s overseas accounts, payments, or financial links for Dante.

3) Repositioning Rocco as a witness

If Rocco’s presence at the piers is revealed, Dante may reshape the scenario. He may reframe the narrative by positioning Rocco as a key witness rather than a suspect. Dante could get the teenager to fall in line with the new story and convince both the PCPD and the DA’s office to accept it as fact.

That way, he may remove Rocco from suspicion in the shooting. Moreover, it would ensure that Rocco receives police protection from the department as a vital witness.

4) Negotiating an immunity deal

If the change in narrative does not help, Dante may spin the story as one of self-defense. He can portray Rocco as the victim and Cullum as the perpetrator of a crime. He may negotiate with the DA’s office to secure immunity for Rocco. Dante may use his position as Police Commissioner to reach out to ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) to arrange the deal.

He may also assure the DA’s office that, under the terms of immunity, Rocco would cooperate. Moreover, Dante may guarantee intel on Cullum if he can pull the arrangement together.

5) Use outside distractions like Sidwell

If none of the above methods work, Dante may consider causing mayhem as a distraction. While he may want to instigate rival mobsters, his safest bet might be triggering a fallout between Cullum and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

If the PCPD gets any evidence linking Cullum with Marco’s (Adrian Anchondo) death, Dante may decide to let Sidwell learn about it, knowing that Sidwell would seek revenge for his son’s death. That way, he could ensure that Sidwell targets Cullum and distracts him away from Rocco.

General Hospital: 5 situations that may ruin Rocco’s future

1) Dante caught destroying evidence

As mentioned before, Dante is considering destroying the evidence from the pier-shooting case. Moreover, when Cullum asked about it, the commissioner brushed it off with the excuse that the evidence had been misfiled.

Since Cullum already suspects that Dante is lying about the evidence in the shooting, he may decide to dig deeper into the case. On the other hand, Dante is unaware that Nathan is actually Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), who may inadvertently expose Dante’s actions. Once Cullum catches the commissioner tampering with evidence, Rocco could become ensnared as the prime suspect.

2) Elizabeth trapped in the web of truth

As General Hospital viewers know, Elizabeth informed Dante of the truth about Rocco’s injured hand, leading the commissioner to realize that Rocco was involved in Cullum’s shooting. However, when Dante shared his intention to destroy the evidence against his son, Liz supported him.

While Elizabeth is supportive and kind-hearted, she may not survive a ruthless interrogation by the WSB. If Cullum figures out that Liz may know something about his shooting as the nurse who cared for him and as Dante’s friend, he may put her through rigorous questioning. If Elizabeth breaks under pressure, the truth about Rocco may be exposed.

3) Rocco’s declining mental state

Fans have already witnessed Rocco’s deteriorating mental state. From hiding in his house to crying on Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) shoulder and melting down in front of his friends, Rocco is under tremendous stress and guilt. Besides the trauma of shooting someone, he is also struggling with the guilt of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) being in custody for a crime he didn’t commit. At the same time, he is unable to share the truth with his best friend, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).

With his mental state spiraling out of control, Rocco may eventually reach a breaking point. As such, he could break down and confess, exposing himself to danger from both Danny and Cullum.

4) Cullum shifting his target to Danny

As a recent storyline hinted, Cullum is actively searching for the person who shot him. Using sharp logic, Cullum has deduced that it has to be someone Jason would willingly take the fall for. As such, he approached Carly (Laura Wright) looking for answers, but she refused to help him.

However, a framed photograph of Jason with Danny gave Cullum the idea that Jason may be protecting his son. Unfortunately, Cullum may become fixated on Danny as his prime suspect. If the WSB director targets Danny, Rocco will likely come forward and turn himself in.

5) The Lulu, Britt and Dante factors

As fans know, too many people are involved in protecting Rocco, each with a different opinion. While Dante wants to use his leverage as PCPD commissioner to his advantage, he remains distrustful of Britt. If he learns that Rocco approached Britt to unburden himself, it will likely cloud Dante’s judgment, pushing him toward faulty decisions.

Meanwhile, Britt and Lulu (Alexa Havins) are in disagreement over their roles in Rocco’s life. Lulu wants Britt to stay away from her son, while Rocco is actively reaching out to Britt. Rocco does not feel that his mother understands his position, while Lulu simply wants to protect him. On the other hand, Dante disagrees with Lulu's idea of Rocco skipping town under a false identity. With three adults growing increasingly suspicious of one another, Rocco will likely find himself caught in chaos.
