General Hospital's Drew Cain is taking his dark and evil side to a whole new level. The former Navy SEAL had been a hero in the past, including taking the fall for Carly and landing in prison. However, after his release, his persona changed. Soon, Drew turned into a ruthless corporate figure, then a cutthroat politician.

His character took a nosedive after he fell for Willow Tait, the wife of his nephew. He indulged in blackmail, trading intel and collaboration with mobster Jenz Sidwell. After Willow victimized him by injecting him with paralytic drugs, fans hoped Drew would have learned his lesson. Unfortunately, he recovered from his paralysis as a more despicable and vengeful man. Currently, he is colluding with Ava Jerome in taking down his enemies, one by one.

5 Clues That Drew is Turning Insidious on General Hospital

1) Using Martin to bypass security to break in

As mentioned before, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) recovered from his medicine-induced, forced paralysis and made Ava Jerome (Maura West) an ally. Together they planned to target their common enemy, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). However, when Drew remembered that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) had some dirt on him, he decided to retrieve that intel.

In his pursuit, Drew planned to use malware to attack cybersecurity as Ava kept Jack engaged. As such, he asked Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) to get a virus for him to plant in the Metro Court's computer systems. This digital ambush hacked into the security cameras and disabled all locks, helping Drew enter Jack's room to search.

2) List of his crimes include blackmail and drugging

As mentioned before, Drew shared his plan to search Jack's hotel room for whatever dirt the WSB station chief had on him. As such, he asked Ava to keep Jack occupied away from his room. To aid this, he provided Ava with sleeping pills to put in Jack's drink, which she did. As expected, Jack consumed the spiked drink and the drugs kicked in before he was found dead in the pool.

Besides drugging, Drew blackmailed Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) last year. Moreover, before his medical emergency, he worked in collusion with mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), to take down his rivals, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Sonny.

3) He has no problem with burying dead bodies

In a shocking and unexpected turn of events, Jack Brennan died at the Metro Court pool. Since Ava had spiked Jack's drink, and Drew was illegally searching his room, the partners panicked that they may be linked to the death, if investigated. As such, they decided to dispose of the body before someone else noticed it.

With Ava's help, Drew pulled Jack's body out of the pool, hid it in a laundry cart, and transported it in their car to the nature reserve by the Q crypt. Together they dug a cavity in the ground, said a short prayer, and buried the body in the grave. Later, they up at the Metro Court restaurant and discussed their further plans, without qualms.

4) He is at ease with setting people up for murder

Drew exchanged insults with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) who arrived in the middle of his discussion with Ava. He proceeded to enter Nina's car and plant Jack's wallet under the seat, as a payback for her move of pushing him into the lake.

While Nina freaked after shoving Drew's wheelchair into the lake and called Jack to help save him, Drew showed no remorse in framing Nina for a crime she did not commit. With Jack gone and no one to save Nina, Drew may be feeling cocky. If he gets away with this malicious move, Drew may continue this tactic to target many of his other enemies. Moreover, he may also have enough material to blackmail Ava and set her up to take the fall.

5) Drew displays obsessive control over Scout's life

Since her mother Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) died in 2024, Drew has shown extreme possessiveness towards their daughter, Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski). Drew obtained restraining orders against Scout's half-brother, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), and her grandmother, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). He has separated the teenager from her extended families, both paternal and maternal.

Drew's intention of keeping Scout under lock and key is borderline creepy, leaving the teenager almost friendless. He exercises extreme control over her movements and even tracks her location all the time. Fans know this neurotic restriction on his daughter is unhealthy both for the father and the daughter.
