5 Ways Jack's Plan to Take Down Drew May Backfire on General Hospital

General Hospital's Jack has made it clear to Drew that he can still do him harm, even if Willow will be kept at bay. Jack offered the dirt on Drew to Alexis Davis to let the attorney have the upper hand when it comes to Scout, but has also given Drew a few warnings about not making more enemies. Whether he hands it over to someone or exposes Drew himself remains to be seen.

5 Conditions Where Jack’s Move on Drew May Fail

1) Leaked evidence may endanger Jack’s WSB career

GH fans learned that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) had been collecting evidence against Drew’s corrupt ways while he was in office. However, the WSB chief sat on it even when there were court cases involving the congressman. Moreover, if Jack hands the intel over to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) or to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), the WSB chief may be investigated.

Deliberately holding sensitive material against a sitting congressman and using it malevolently instead of handing it over to his superiors will be questioned. It may even be considered WSB material and Jack could be charged with a crime. Whether that leads to Jack Brennan's exit remains to be seen.

2) Investigation may impact Kai, Trina and Alexis’s roles

So far, Jack is unaware of Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) presence in Drew’s house when the congressman was shot. If Drew is investigated because of the leaked dirt against him, it may draw in his shooting case and Kai and Trina’s trespassing. When examined thoroughly, Kai and Trina may reveal that they informed Alexis, which will put the attorney in a questionable front.

Fans may see more Port Charles residents being pulled in. Out of them, the most significant name would be the interim congresswoman, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). While she may not be tried again after her first exoneration, her reputation and political career may take a hit. With Willow’s future destroyed, Nina may blow up on Jack, forcing him to step down.

3) Drew’s vengeance may become more aggressive

We may likely see Drew’s wrath if Jack exposes the former congressman’s corruption while in office. Whether it comes from Alexis, Nina, or someone else, Drew will know that the dirt originally came from Jack and may direct his vengeful attacks on the WSB chief.

Although Drew dismissed Jack’s threats before his ally, Ava Jerome (Maura West), calling him a minor annoyance, he may find himself on the backfoot because of Jack’s moves. On one hand, Drew’s reputation will take a dip while on the other, his focus on taking down his enemies will be foiled. Drew will be furious with Jack and come down heavily on the perpetrator using all his resources.

Drew's exposure at Jack's hands could stall Drew and Ava’s attack plans on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). With Jack divulging Drew’s past wrongs, the latter may need to scramble to undo the damage. In such a situation, Drew may need to stall the revenge plans. This will likely upset Ava who also wants to take down Sonny and claim custody of her daughter. An infuriated Ava may unleash her Jerome family ire on Jack and others connected to him.

5) Involvement of the Black Box and Valentin exposed

Jack had collected all the intel on Drew in a WSB Black Box. However, during his paralysis, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) had taken the Box to Wyndemere castle. After Cullum’s death, when the WSB combed the castle, they did not find any such box. However, before Jack could get his hands on it, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) took it from the castle’s tunnels. Valentin later traded it with Jack in exchange for the release of his frozen funds.

While Valentin handed over the Black Box to Jack, the latter ensured the release of Valentin’s money and assets. With the disclosure of the dirt on Drew, Jack’s Black Box and Valentin’s negotiation will come to light. Besides Jack, the situation would negatively impact Valentin and others connected to him, such as Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). If Valentin takes a hit, Carly would lash out at Jack for his inopportune actions.
