Nina Reeves stands at a dangerous crossroads in the GH storyline after she was forced into drugging Drew Cain and Jack Brennan. While her daughter, Willow Tait, tricked her into administering the paralytic drug to Drew, Nina injected Brennan by mistake. Currently, Brennan is hospitalized with “locked-in” syndrome, with only Willow, Sidwell, and Cullum knowing the truth.
The episode from Friday, May 22, 2026, saw Nina shriek after discovering Brennan awake and attempting to communicate. While she pulled a syringe from her bag to inject him, she ultimately changed her mind and threw the syringe away. Whether sparing Brennan proves to be a catastrophic mistake remains to be seen.
5 penalties Nina may face for saving Brennan on GH
1) Fallout with Willow

As GH fans have witnessed, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is siding with her daughter Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) evil plans. Tricked and blackmailed by Willow, Nina agreed to stand by the congresswoman. As such, she agreed to inject Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) with the paralytic drug in an attempt to appease her daughter.
With Brennan (Chris McKenna) mistakenly dragged into this mess, they now need Brennan to remain “locked-in” as well. However, recent episodes highlighted Nina’s growing guilt and her decision to spare Brennan after he managed to communicate. This will likely have grave repercussions, as Brennan may reveal the truth about the drug, Drew, and Willow. The full truth coming out could destroy Willow’s political future before it even begins, and that may push Willow into turning against her own mother.
2) Sidwell and Cullum’s retaliation

With Brennan awake and possibly healthy, the WSB agent will likely put two and two together. He may discover Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) roles in the conspiracy surrounding Drew’s stroke. Since Brennan was already suspicious of Cullum and discreetly investigating his boss, he may jump at the opportunity to expose him.
With their secrets beginning to slip out, both Sidwell and Cullum will be furious. When they learn that Willow’s mother, Nina, helped destroy their operation, the sinister duo will likely target her. Nina may soon find herself in serious danger from Cullum’s wrath.
3) Brennan’s revenge

It is a no-brainer that Brennan is very upset about his predicament, especially since his boss, Cullum, visited him at the hospital to ridicule and threaten him. Brennan will not forget that Nina called him to her place, where he met Valentin and the two fought. To stop their scuffle, Nina injected him with the drug, leaving him “locked-in.”
When he breaks free from his condition, Nina will likely become his first target. He may unleash his anger on Nina for putting him in a helpless situation where he lost valuable time solving crimes across Port Charles.
4) Social ostracization

Nina’s very act of saving Brennan may become her social doom. When Brennan comes out of the hospital, he may reveal the real reason behind his “stroke.” As people learn that Nina caused Brennan’s condition, she may be viewed as dangerous and shunned by those closest to her.
That may include Jacinda, Sonny, Ava, and even her grandchildren. If Willow washes her hands of her mother and allows Nina to take the fall for everything, Nina may find herself isolated, friendless, and completely alone.
5) Loss of credibility

In an extension of the previous argument, Nina’s reputation may affect her career as well. Nina is a corporate powerhouse who runs Crimson. However, news of her involvement in this shady situation could severely damage her professional reputation. While her credibility takes a hit with clients and business associates, she may also find herself increasingly isolated from those closest to her.
Moreover, Nina had formed alliances with Brennan and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) while also growing close to Charlotte. On one hand, Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) already distrusted Nina for attempting to manipulate her, while on the other, both Brennan and Valentin may believe Nina double-crossed them. As such, they are likely to confront her about her reliability and trustworthiness.
5 conditions that may save Nina on GH
1) Strategic alliance with Brennan

As mentioned before, Nina refrained from injecting Brennan with the drug when he tried to communicate with her. Brennan may feel grateful for the mercy she showed. Moreover, he may realize that Nina was forced into this arrangement and was not a willing participant.
As such, Brennan may agree to collaborate with Nina and help her out of this mess. He may demand complete loyalty from her in exchange for not charging her with attempted murder. He may also offer her protection from Cullum, Sidwell, and Willow’s wrath. This arrangement may ultimately work in Nina’s favor.
2) Sonny to the rescue

As longtime fans know, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has come to Nina’s rescue many times despite their bitter divorce. The mob boss has maintained his alliance with Nina and continued to provide her with protection and support.
As such, Nina may again knock on Sonny’s door if she finds herself hounded by Brennan on one side and her daughter, Sidwell, and Cullum on the other. Once Sonny gets the full picture, he may agree to help Nina. Moreover, he may ask for Nina’s help in taking down his rivals.
3) Surprising coalition with Carly

Viewers have seen Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Nina engage in bitter fights in the past. While Nina used the law against Carly, the latter resented Nina for trying to take Sonny away from her. The rivals also clashed over their children after Willow cheated on her husband and Carly’s son, Michael Corinthos (now played by Rory Gibson).
However, in the current scenario, if Nina has a fallout with Willow and becomes targeted by Sidwell and Cullum, she may find Carly on her side. Since Cullum was responsible for Jason’s (Steve Burton) arrest and extradition, Carly considers the WSB chief an enemy. As such, she may be ready to join forces with her longtime rival to take Cullum down.
4) Liesl Obrecht’s support

Nina’s aunt, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), has always been a straight-talking woman. She warned Nina about Willow turning dark, and now that Nina has become both a victim and an accomplice in Willow’s evil schemes, she may find very few people on her side.
However, if Brennan recovers, Nina may become his target while also facing her daughter’s fury. In such a situation, she may receive support from Obrecht. The latter may vouch for Nina’s innocence and pull out all the stops to help her. Whether Obrecht can call in help from her son Nathan, AKA Cassius (Ryan Paevey), remains to be seen.
5) Valentin, Charlotte, and other factors

Viewers may remember that Brennan was pressuring Nina to get Charlotte to spill intel on Valentin, something Charlotte overheard and informed her father about. While Valentin was tricked by Nina into meeting Brennan at her home, he will likely remember that Brennan went down after Nina injected him with a drug.
Valentin may feel gratitude toward Nina for taking down Brennan during the confrontation. As such, he may forgive her and even help protect her. Valentin may convince Charlotte that Nina is not the real danger here. In turn, Charlotte may convince Lulu to stand in support of Nina, adding more people to her corner.
