6 Outcomes of Willow’s Move to the Gatehouse on General Hospital

Power met its match on General Hospital after Michael Corinthos learned that Willow Tait indeed shot Congressman Drew Cain last year. While Willow knows that she cannot be tried again, Michael made it clear that family court does not care. Moreover, when thought she had leverage against Michael due to Jacinda spiking her coffee, Michael produced affidavits signed by Trina Robinson and Kai Taylor stating they were in the house when Drew was shot and know what happened.

With this evidence, Michael threatened to destroy Willow if she did not do his bidding, meaning she is now forced to move back to the Quartermaine gatehouse, live under his surveillance, spend supervised time with the children, and hand over her passport. Wanting to keep her reputation and her access to her children, Willow agreed.

As expected, the agreement between Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) will put the congresswoman in an awkward position. Armed with proof about Willow shooting Drew, Michael has successfully cornered his former wife into agreeing to his demands.

When Willow moves in, she will essentially lose much of her freedom. While she can meet her children, they will pretty much be supervised visits. With her passport in Michael’s possession, she cannot leave the country, and she will be under his surveillance most of the time. As such, she will be forced to live the life of a hostage.

Willow had no choice but to accept Michael’s proposition to save her reputation and escape prison time. While she will have access to her children, Michael will supervise her time with them, meaning she will have no freedom to do things with her children, including taking them for outings on her own.

With her wings clipped, Willow will be desperate to have her kids to herself. Expect to see multiple altercations and conflict between the former couple about their custody over the kids.

While Willow may hang on to her congress office to escape the oppressive environment at the Q estate, she may find herself delibrately isolated. They already have no love for her after her affair with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) blindsided Michael.

Predictably, when Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) learns about the latest arrangement between Willow and Michael, she will panic. She will likely realize that Michael is holding something over Willow's head, meaning she might jump in to look for ways to help Willow.

In her desperation, Nina may want to get help from her network. She may reach out to Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and even, consider involving Drew. Whether she also tries to rope in Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to help dissuade his son from inflicting atrocities on her daughter, remains to be seen. However, she may end up causing more harm than good by her flustered actions.

5) Willow’s mental health rebound

ith Michael planning to keep Willow’s life under surveillance while holding on to her passport, Michael will likely have his eyes on all her actions.

This constant observation could eventually take its toll on her mental health and break her. Since Willow has melted down in the past, she may spiral again, unable to bear this pressure. That may land her in Ferncliff or Shadybrook, away from her family, mother, and children.
