6 Ways General Hospital's Drew May Face his Downfall

General Hospital's Drew Cain has miraculously recovered from his bout with locked-in syndrome and agreed with Willow that they would keep each other’s vile crimes a secret and file for divorce.

Drew then redirected his fury on his other enemies. He lashed out at his twin, Jason, despite Jason wanting to bury the hatchet. Drew forbade his daughter from having any contact with Jason’s son and refused to let Scout visit her maternal grandmother. He made a move to buy Sidwell’s assets and has formed an alliance with Ava Jerome. Having learned no lesson from his traumatic experience, Drew may be harboring many enemies who would see him fail.

6 Situations that May Take Down Drew

1) Leverage from Jack Brennan and Alexis Davis

As fans already know, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) had a WSB Black Box that had dirt against Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) which can destroy the latter’s reputation. Jack had made a deal with Willow to hand the material to her if she stopped injecting him with paralytic drugs, leading to a pact between Willow and Drew to refrain from using any dirt on each other. When Jack saw Drew giving Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) a tough time, he offered the same dirt to her in return for a favor.

Since Jack Brennan has promised that the intel on Drew can destroy him, Alexis may use it if she gets desperate enough. While she would be careful to protect any damage reflecting on Drew’s daughter and her granddaughter, Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski), she may judiciously use the dirt to free Scout of Drew’s control.

Drew had taken out restraining orders, barring Scout from being with her mother's family. However, Willow disregarded the orders when Drew was in a wheelchair. With Drew back in action, he has tightened the ropes again.

Recently, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) was seen ranting to his best friend Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) about Drew’s hard ways keeping him away from his half-sister, Scout. In response, Charlotte encouraged him to stoop lower than Drew. Urged by Charlotte, Danny is considering concocting a fake allegation against the former congressman. Danny and Charlotte hope to put force Drew to allow Scout to interact with Danny and the rest on the family. While the evidence may be fake, it may find its target and take Drew down temporarily.

3) Sonny Corinthos’s retaliation over business

Since the arrest and sentencing of international crime lord, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), many Port Charles power player have made moves to buy Sidwell’s assets. In the past, Sidwell manipulated to take over many properties of the town’s mob boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Expectedly, Sonny wants to get his properties back now. However, Drew is making his move to buy the same assets and deprive Sonny.

This is making Sonny furious, so he may go to any length to destroy Drew. Moreover, if Sonny learns that the former congressman is actively collaborating with Sonny’s rival, Ava Jerome (Maura West), he may despise Drew further. Although Sonny is planning on quitting mob, he may still have enough ammunition to ruin Drew’s future.

It is well-known that Willow destests Drew. Since she blames him for the destruction of her marriage and being separated from her children, she has tried to do away with him in the past. While Drew survived both her attacks, shooting and injecting paralytic drugs, Willow is holding Jack’s dirt on Drew to stop him from reporting her crimes.

However, with Willow’s move into the Quartremaine estate coming up, she may form new alliances with former husbands Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) former or Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). If she finds support in either of these gentlemen, she may try to outmaneuver Drew permanently.

5) The Quartermaine's sharp rejection

For years, Drew has been trying to get an entry and acceptance from his biological family, the Quartermaines. Although the former matriarch, the deceased Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) had accepted him as family and allowed him to stay in the house, Drew wrecked the relationships by wooing Willow, while she was married to Michael. As such, he was thrown out. Since then, he has attacked the family in multiple ways including trying to bulldoze the family crypt and having Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) arrested.

Recently, Scout sought permission from Tracy to allow Drew watch her swim in the lake. Although reluctant, Tracy was persuaded by the rest of the family, including Danny, to allow Drew on the premises only when Scout is there. However, Drew may try to take advantage of this arrangement and force his way into the family or manipulate sentiments. In retaliation, the Quartermaine family may push back and eventually, move to take him down.

6) Michael Corinthos’ possible business plots

As viewers know, Drew promised to support his enemy, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). In return, he may ask for a favor later. However, Curtis lost his court case and is was sentenced to 10 years in Pentonville. With Curtis gone, Aurora Media may need a new CEO. Drew might have had this company in mind when he offered help to Curtis and may think of taking over. However, Michael calls the shots at Aurora and may deny his uncle any power at the media house.

Moreover, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has left the mob and may be looking for a job. Given his qualities and his good rapport with Michael, the latter may offer him a position at Aurora. Alternatively, Michael may have other candidates in mind, such as Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper). Either way, Michael’s business plans may undermine Drew’s plans. The Corinthos scion may also help Sonny snatch Sidwell’s assets away from Drew. With no business to back him up, Drew may face financial issues.
