General Hospital and the long-running CBS series Blue Bloods have many themes in common, including the strong presence of law enforcement as well as family dynamics. Blue Bloods is set in New York and stars Tom Selleck as the patriarch of a family of cops. Here are seven GH actors who appeared in Blue Bloods.
Daniel Cosgrove

GH fans know Daniel Cosgrove as crooked Councilman Ezra Boyle and his past connection to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). We're all wondering what's going to happen now that Laura (Genie Francis) has asked him to act as Port Charles' temporary mayor while she visits Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace in Ireland. Is she making a mistake in trusting Ezra to take over? We can't help but think she is!
Blue Bloods ran for fourteen seasons, from 2010 to 2024. In 2021, Cosgrove played Detective Felix Evans in an episode called "The End." This episode is the first part of the two-hour, season eleven finale. Cosgrove also appeared in the second part of the finale, entitled "Justifies the Means."
Rebecca Budig

GH fans remember Rebecca Budig as Hayden Barnes, mother of Violet (Jophielle Love), ex-lover of Finn (Michael Easton), and Elizabeth's (Rebecca Herbst) half-sister. Liz and Hayden didn't get along at first, but eventually, they grew close. Too bad Liz she doesn't have Hayden to confide in right now. It looks like there is a love triangle forming between Liz, Ric (Rick Hearst), and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Is Liz really just interested in Dante as a friend, or as something more?
In 2013, Budig appeared in a Blue Bloods episode called "Ties That Bind." She plays Connie Patrick, a woman whose life is turned upside down because her ex-husband, Michael (Tom Cavanaugh), is involved in organized crime.
Charles Mesure

GH fans loved Charles Mesure's suave, charming personality when he was the first actor to play Jack Brennan and wooed Carly (Laura Wright). Jack, now played by Chris McKenna, has gotten himself entangled in a messy situation with Nina (Cynthia Watros), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), and Drew (Cameron Mathison). Is Willow or Nina going to kill him? He had better sleep with one eye open!
In 2016, Mesure appeared in a Blue Bloods episode titled "Down the Rabbit Hole" as Garda Commissioner Farrelly, a high-ranking law enforcement official from Ireland who is involved in an Irish delegation subplot.
Amanda Setton

GH's Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) has a lot going on these days. She's thrilled to be baby Phoebe's new mom, but she's not thrilled that Willow has moved back into the gatehouse. Will Chase live up to his word that Brook Lynn and Phoebe are his top priorities, or will he let his friendship with Willow get in the way?
Setton appeared in a 2011 episode of Blue Bloods called "To Tell the Truth," in which she played Sylvia, the girlfriend of a Peruvian mob boss who has a history of intimidating murder witnesses.
Ted King

Ted King played two of Sonny's (Maurice Benard) most memorable mob rivals on GH -- twin brothers Luis and Lorenzo Alcazar. They were each romantically involved with one of Sonny's loves, Luis with Brenda (Vanessa Marcil) and Lorenzo with Carly (who was played by Tamara Braun at the time and then briefly by Jennifer Branson). Both brothers have long been dead, but in true GH fashion, perhaps one (or both) of them will return one day and go after Sonny for the millionth time?
King was featured in a 2024 Blue Bloods episode called "Without Fear or Favor." He plays Lieutenant Larry Cooper in a subplot regarding the investigation of a shooting incident in which a retired officer is involved.
Erika Slezak

Legendary soap actress Erika Slezak made her mark on GH as Monica's (Leslie Charleson) sister, Veronica "Ronnie" Bard, who showed up at the Quartermaine crypt after Monica's funeral. Ronnie's numerous clashes with Tracy (Jane Elliot) are worth watching on repeat. We hope she visits the Quartermaines again some day. We would love to see Slezak return, and maybe next time, Ronnie can even become friends with Tracy.
In 2023, Slezak played Donna Duvall in a Blue Bloods episode titled "Nothing Sacred." Donna is scammed out of a large sum of money by someone who is targeting the elderly.
Richard Burgi

Richard Burgi played GH's Paul Hornsby, Tracy's ex-husband, who was later revealed to be a serial killer who murdered numerous characters between 2015 and 2016, including Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Catillo). He was known as the Angel of Mercy killer who injected his victims with Derisifol, a muscle relaxant. Thankfully, he was caught and convicted, and he's now residing in Pentonville Penitentiary. With so many PC residents in Pentonville, it's become a really crowded place!
In 2012, Burgi appeared in a Blue Bloods episode called "Domestic Disturbance," playing Councilman Tommy Mancini, a former detective who becomes involved in a dispute involving domestic violence after his girlfriend "fell" down a flight of stairs.
We love it when our favorite GH stars pop up on other TV shows and in movies as well. Don't you?
