One thing that sets General Hospital apart from all the other daytime soaps is that it revolves around a hospital and its staff. Likewise, the long-running prime-time drama Grey's Anatomy revolves around the lives and loves of its medical staff and is even filmed in the studio next door. Here are nine GH actors who have appeared in GA.

Bruce Weitz

Bruce Weitz played one of Sonny's many mob rivals on GH. From 2007 to 2012, Weitz portrayed Anthony Zacchara, Claudia Zacchara's (Sarah Joy Brown) father and Johnny Zacchara's (Brandon Barrash) grandfather.

But for years, we thought he was Johnny's father. Remember how shocked we were when Sonny discovered that Claudia was not Johnny's sister but his mother?

Grey's Anatomy has been on the air for a whopping 21 years. Weitz made a guest appearance on GA in the very first season, in 2005. The episode was titled "If Tomorrow Never Comes," and his character's name was Edward Levangie, a patient who suffers from Parkinson's Disease.

Alexa Havins

We know Alexa Havins as the third adult actress to play Lulu on GH. Fans of All My Children also know her as Arabella "Babe" Chandler, who was romantically involved with J.R. Chandler (Jacob Young). But did you know that she also appeared in an episode of GA?

She played in a season seven episode called "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)." In the episode, her character Danielle is the new, twenty-something girlfriend of Dr. Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) father, Thatcher Grey (Jeff Perry).

Wes Ramsey

Peter August's (Wes Ramsey) return to GH has posed a serious problem for Anna (Finola Hughes), even though he only appears as a hallucination. Fans of GH's "Friz" -- the couple of Franco and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) -- hate Peter for killing Franco and leaving Liz a grieving widow.

But long before Peter set foot in Port Charles, Ramsey played Jimmy McAdams in a season nine GA episode called "Walking on a Dream." Jimmy was a patient who was afflicted with a rare brain tumor.

Incidentally, this episode also features Alexa Havins' real-life husband, Justin Bruening. Bruening portrayed Jamie Martin in All My Children.

Jen Lilley

Many GH fans will remember Jen Lilley as a temporary recast for Kirsten Storms in the role of Maxie from 2011 to 2012. Lilley has appeared in many Hallmark movies over the years, and she portrayed Theresa Donovan on Days of Our Lives.

In 2011, she had a supporting role in the major motion picture The Artist. The critically acclaimed film won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Lilley appeared as Kara Fisher in a season 13 episode of GA, entitled "I Ain't No Miracle Worker." Lilley plays a patient who is suffering from injuries after a car crash.

Josh Kelly

GH fans know Josh Kelly as the amiable Cody Bell, who first appeared in Port Charles in 2022 and gained a family after learning he was Mac's (John J. York) son. Fans of One Life to Live may remember Kelly as con artist Cutter Wentworth, who was, coincidentally, the brother of Kimberly Andrews, who was played by GH's Amanda Setton (the current actress playing Brook Lynn Quartermaine).

But just two years before Kelly joined GH, he made a guest appearance in a season sixteen GA episode called "Give a Little Bit." He plays Kyle Rexton, a veteran who struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Coby Ryan McLaughlin

No longtime GH fan could ever forget Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughin), the menacing Dawn of Day cult leader who raped Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and a few other women who were members of the cult. Thankfully, Sam (Kelly Monaco) killed him, so he's dead and buried. Or is he? On GH, we never know whether a dead villain will return from the grave!

Just two months prior to joining GH, McLaughlin appeared in a brief role on The Young and the Restless. But did you know that after he left GH, he appeared in an episode of GA? He played Chad Anderson in a season 17 episode called "Sign O' the Times." Chad is an asthmatic patient who refuses to consider that he might have Covid-19. He believes that Covid is not a real illness.

Cynthia Watros

Cynthia Watros is famous among Guiding Light fans for playing villain Annie Dutton, for which she won a Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress. For GH fans, she has made the role of Nina Reeves her own after the part was recast. The Young and the Restless' Michelle Stafford originated the role and played it from 2014 to 2019.

Watros has appeared in various primetime shows, including sitcoms Titus and The Drew Carey Show. She appeared in a season eight episode of GA, entitled "Let the Bad Times Roll." She played Liz Connor, the loving and concerned wife of a man who suffers a severe brain injury after falling off of their roof.

Hudson West

We haven't seen Hudson West on GH since his character, Jake Webber, flew to Barcelona, Spain to attend art school. Many GH fans would like to see him connect with his father, Jason (Steve Burton), especially now that Jason has left the mob. After all, Jason should spend some quality time with both of his sons, not just Danny (Asher Antonyzyn).

West appeared in a 2025 horror movie called The Arborist. But long before he joined GH, he appeared in a season 13 episode of GA entitled "Leave It Inside." He plays Liam, a child who suffers a seizure. However, his parents refuse to let the doctors treat him, due to their religious beliefs.

Jophielle Love

How can we ever forget Jophielle Love's wonderful portrayal of Violet on GH? She had us in tears in the heartbreaking scene where she had to say goodbye to her father, Finn (Michael Easton), when he left his family behind to check into rehab for alcohol addiction. Sometimes we wonder whether Violet will return to Port Charles one day. She is Chase's (Josh Swickard) niece, after all, and she would love to meet her new cousin, baby Phoebe.

Love was only five years old when she appeared in a season 16 episode of GA, entitled "It's Raining Men." She plays Clervie, a girl suffering from abnormal skull growth, and the doctors need to perform surgery on her to reshape her skull.

Many GH fans would like to see a return to more medical storylines on the soap, as we've seen so many recent stories revolve around the mob and the WSB. What do you think, fans? Tell us your opinions in the comments.
