Carly's World...Starring Valiant Valentin, Junior Spy Joss, and Nina With the Syringe: General Hospital Two Scoops For May 4th

General Hospital managed to do something brilliant with Carly Spencer. They got her away from Sonny, pretty much away from Jason, and stuck her in her OWN storyline and not everyone else's. And this is the most entertaining, relatable, and just plain fun Carly has been in years. It's a whole new world for this long-time character with a whole new pairing — and we couldn't be happier.

By the end of the week, Carly was even proven right when her worst enemy entered the mix and added a whole new layer to this chaotic, mixed-up mess that better end with Anna and Jason returning to Port Charles. So, let's dig in with those two big scoops, dissect the week that was for Carly...and the rest of Port Charles.

Get 'em, Carly

Carly got to let it ALL out this week as we cheered her on. Sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than confronting a lying man with his lies after holding back for months on end. And that is exactly what Carly did when Jack Brennan learned that he might be a worse WSB agent than junior spy Josslyn.

For the last five months, Valentin has been right under his nose. Or should we say above it because he's been hiding out in Carly's attic and sometimes in Carly's bed? Uh-oh Jack. You've been cuckolded by your girlfriend and fooled by your worst frenemy. And we don't feel a lick of sympathy for you.

Laura Wright looked like she was relishing every word out of Carly's mouth and every smirk on her face. Do not play with this woman's children or she will come at you with a gun-toting international fugitive. Who didn't cheer out loud when Carly told Jack to turn around and there was Valentin with a gun and a smile?

Is there anything sexier than a middle-aged international fugitive with a throwback mustache brandishing his weapon as his middle-aged girlfriend stands there in a robe giving his latest worst enemy a verbal beat down? No, we didn't think so. Valentin always appears at just the right time, knowing just what to do or say.

Without fail, he manages to get him and anyone he cares about out of a sticky situation. After jumping from a plane to land at Carly's house and take over her attic and kitchen, nothing is too hard for this Cassadine. Sure, he just had a romp in the hay with his hospitable host, but he knew where to find his pistol and knew exactly how he was going to get Jack to do his bidding.

The emotions were raw, the stakes were high, and the gun may have not even been loaded, but Jack did what he was told. Even when Nina told him to do it.

The fun part is that Jack now knows what Carly and Valentin have been up to all these months, but Valentin still get to stay in the attic. Carly gets to keep her personal chef/roommate/man servant, we get to continue enjoying their domestic bliss, and Carly doesn't have to have sex with Jack anymore. Win-win all around.

Kung-Fu Josslyn gets KO'd

While her mother was busy giving Jack EVERYTHING he deserved, Josslyn was busy going rogue and doing EVERYTHING Jack had asked her not to do. She is both her mother's daughter and her own person, and that is where she gets in trouble. Josslyn doesn't listen to anyone, but she also needs to find a brand-new career.

While we did cringe watching a grown man rough up a female college student, we had to put that feeling in our back pocket and remember that Josslyn decided being a super spy would be fun, and this comes with the territory. We've watched Anna fight like that many times, even last fall with Pascal. We have to put gender aside when we watch these things.

But anyway, Josslyn finds herself in a fine mess now as she passes the time in Wyndemere's basement. It turned out Anna's old room was for rent, complete with protein bars, a nice futon, and all the Yoga and Pilates equipment you need packed away in nice little wicker baskets. It's the perfect double mirror home away from home for our intrepid junior spy. Maybe she will even find Anna's etchings and solve a mystery for her friend Emma. (Emma really should have been the one in the WSB, but that's a discussion for another time.)

This is the first time Josslyn has found herself in this situation because the Five Poppies doesn't count. She had Vaughn there as backup, Jack knew what she was up to, and Jason was on the scene. Now, she has no backup, Jack has no idea what this college girl was up to, and Jason is in an international prison somewhere. What ya gonna do now, Josslyn? Hopefully, find a new job when this is all over.

Nina Reeves enters the chat

By the end of the week, we thought we were headed to a humdrum Friday, but oh me, oh my, did that not happen. We weren't sure what was going to happen with that syringe Nina left on the coffee table and wondered how long it would take for Drew to just pop out of his wheelchair and that was that.

When she put it under Wiley's dump truck, we thought one of the kids might find it, which would DEFINITELY cost Willow her kids, but nope, that syringe came in handy another way.

Who didn't laugh as Valentin had a gun trained on Jack for the second time in one week as Nina listened to this bizarre conversation? Josslyn? Carly? How the heck did they become involved in this? Why would Valentin even mention these people he barely even knew? Well, boy is she in for a story as soon as they figure out what to do with Jack.

Oh yeah, Jack. And the syringe. It made its way into Jack's back now via a panicked Nina, which means Jack's had a stroke and can join Drew upstairs. But Drew is listening to this whole thing without his dose, so this is going to get quite interesting. Are we ready for Drew's redemption arc? We all know it's coming so we may as well get it over with.

Hot mess Britt the Britch drives General Hospital insane

Maybe Britt can find Josslyn again the next time she ends up in Wyndemere's basement. We're sure her lab must be nearby. Maybe Cassius will even tell Britt how he got those cracked ribs. In the meantime, Britt continues to alienate (almost) everyone around her, but we love her anyway. (We realize not everyone does.)

Britt is real and that counts for something. Some of us just can't handle anxiety very well and Britt sure does have a lot to be anxious about. If she snaps at her co-workers, let's just cut her some slack. She's been working for madmen in exchange for a drug that keeps her functional. Her boyfriend is taking the fall for her surrogate teenage son, shooting the madman holding onto her meds. And the other madman? She saw him shoot someone three inches from her face.

And what is she making for these madmen? Well, it sounds like it could be some sort of nuclear bomb. So, let's all be nicer to Britt cause, at this point, she's allowed to be a britch.

Rocco realizations

At least someone else know what Rocco did now, and that someone else is his father. We're not sure why Dante chose Elizabeth to walk his theories through with, but we suspect he has a crush. (Awwww...)

But Liz did tell him what she knew, and what she has known since March. Rocco never cut his hand on a kitchen knife. He cut it when he shot a gun. It all makes sense now, which means Jason is closer to coming home, right? (Maybe not. Probably July.)

Ava, art, and one paranoid Sonny

Sonny is being ridiculous | Image: ABC

You know you wanted to take Sonny by the shoulders this week and shake some sense into him. Cause we sure did. Watching him jump to conclusions about Ric was worse than watching Curtis jump to conclusions about Isaiah. Is Ric not allowed to have a life and do things that Sonny isn't privy to? In Sonny's world, no, he's not.

Well, while Elizabeth was helping Sonny's son solve a crime involving Sonny's hitman and Sonny's grandson, Ric was busy doing...something with Ava. But we feel that something has to do with art and Elizabeth. So, Sonny needs to calm down, put down the gun, and listen. Then, he needs to apologize. Please and thank you.

Till next week, Scoopers, when Valentin and Nina have to get out of one fine mess. What will their congresswoman think?
