General Hospital's 'Who Shot Drew?' trial might be over, the guilty party might be walking free, Alexis might want a few Advil (and Tums), Chase might think he did the right thing, Dante might feel he did the wrong thing, Michael might feel the heat, but Willow? She's feeling pretty fine quite soon because what does a guilty person do when accused of a crime? Hold their head high and deny, deny, deny. When you do it with a soft voice, the perfect manicure, and all for the children, it's so easy, right? And apparently, it works.
And that's where our story begins and continues. Willow did it, and she may never face the consequences. So, let's dig on in with those two scoops and muddle through the evidence.
Wrong General Hospital lawyer, guys

Did nobody ever teach Kai and Trina that the defense attorney has to remain a defense attorney no matter what? Didn't they ever hear the thing about defense attorneys not even asking their clients whether they are guilty or innocent, so their judgment is not clouded? That means the defense attorney is not going to turn their client in because that's against the rules. As Diane pointed out, it could have gotten Alexis disbarred if she told the jury to convict her client.
Now, what they should have done was what Alexis suggested. They couldn't find another lawyer to tell? Diane? Marco? Martin? Ric? ANYONE! Really, they could have gone to any number of PC lawyers, who would have happily taken their case and made sure they could cut a deal with Justine. But no, instead, 86 and 99 did not get very smart. Their detective skills got them somewhere, but their knowledge of how lawyers operate only led them to a dead end. They missed it by that much. Maybe they need to get a shoe phone and call one of the four lawyers listed above to plan their next genius step.
Where is Nora Buchannan when we need her?

Yes, we know Kai and Trina picked the wrong lawyer and that technically, there was nothing Alexis could do — except pull a Nora Hannen Gannon Buchanan. Because this is a soap and you can do that. And this is also a soap on which Nora has appeared on when she helped Valentin win custody of Charlotte. That means Alexis could have called her up for advice on how to throw a case during closing arguments. Nora did that so masterfully in 1993 when Nora realized Todd really had raped Marty, along with two of his fraternity brothers. She told the jury just that and Hillary B. Smith even won an Emmy for that performance.
Now, THAT would have been some amazing soap opera. Instead, we got Alexis looking like she was about to puke while making Freudian slips in the most unconvincing closing arguments we've ever seen in a daytime trial. But the jury bought it and Willow is getting away with attempted murder. Have you ever seen a more defeated attorney than when the verdict was read? Poor Alexis.
When Sonny gets blue...

But at least Alexis and Sonny can remain friends when Justine inevitably goes after Michael. As he told her, he gets it. Diane defends him, knowing he's committed all sorts of heinous crimes. She just turns a blind eye and gets it done. Heck, Sonny and Alexis' relationship began when she was his mob lawyer, way before Diane's time.
And Alexis? Come on, girl. Not only have you defended guilty parties before, but you've broken a few laws and killed a few people in your time. Remember that time you locked your baby daddy in the basement, tied to a gurney with a ball gag in his mouth? Or was that way too long ago last summer?
But seriously, there's never anything wrong with a little bit of 'Sexis' on our screens together. Sonny is pissed, but Sonny is mellow. What did they give him during that heart surgery last year? Alexis and chill, right?
Willow's just getting started...

And then there's our Willow. And a new Willow has dawned, indeed (so to speak). The Dawn of Day girl just got away with it, which means she now knows she can get away with so much more, which is going to make this new Willow oh-so-much fun.
As we have already said, if there was ever a character who needed a reset, this one was it. Half the fans soured on her when she miraculously survived cancer, after neglecting to even treat it until it was almost too late. Then, the rest of the fans soured on her when she did the deed with Drew on the playroom floor the night his daughter's mother died, and then proceeded to tell us that Drew could reach across the ocean and magically fix her life.
And then she shot him, and she is redeemed in our eyes. Not redeemed in the traditional sense that she's tried to right all her wrongs. No, she is redeemed because NOW Willow can finally be fun in the spirit of her dearly departed twin sister Nelle. Willow was never fun and Nelle was always fun. So, pick up where your sister left off, Willow. We've been waiting years for this and it's finally here. Scorched Earth Willow has arrived and we can't wait to see what she does (to Drew) next.
Wishful thinking at Wyndemere?

Our French-speaking, piano-playing, Billy Joel-singing boyfriend Valentin made his way to Wyndemere. Anna is somewhere in the bowels of Wyndemere. And never their twains shall meet. Well, at least not this week. Sigh.
We really thought it was going to happen because Anna was slated to get a surprise on Friday, but instead, Anna's surprise was a hallucination of Liesl giving her a phlebotomy. Now, that's no fun at all.
Anna also became the girl who cried wolf this week when she used her blood cancer as a way to try to overtake Pascal, only to have real blood cancer symptoms not an hour later. Our favorite clever super spy is falling down on the job, as is our favorite novice super spy.
Let's get axed

It took about four years, but Jason and Britt finally went out on their first official date. Remember back in 2021 when Britt bought Jason a toothbrush in case he wanted to stay over after their first date that never happened. Well, it never happened because he stupidly agreed to marry Carly (for mob reasons, we swear).
So, in 2026, Jason finally made things up to Britt by taking her to the ax bar, where they ran into...yep, Carly. And Josslyn too. Carly tried to be as much of a third wheel party pooper as she was the last time Jason and Britt tried to give it a go, minus the wedding vows. Carly tried to warn Jason that Britt was up to something nefarious, but Jason already knew, and he didn't care. Cause Britt makes Jason smile.
And Jason needs to smile every once in a while. But can he remind her that she is not Rocco's mom? Liesl seems to have a problem with this concept and can't stop trying to corrupt Britt. But Britt, nope, you're not Rocco's mom.
We're melting...

And finally, it was a hot time in Anna's old apartment in the middle of winter. It was so hot that Emma had to don a bikini with a sarong, because when you're sweating at home, you may as well be fashionable, right? Well, Emma had a date to Hulu and chill (yes, really, Hulu cause why not offer a shameless plug) with Gio, so she had to look right.
And of what a date it was. In fact, this date had the whole fandom squealing with joy. Our Gemma finally shared a sweet and tender love scene. And Gio? He asked for consent. Could he not be a sweeter boy? Young love in the afternoon — or even old love in the afternoon — is what soaps are all about.
But did anyone notice that Emma's bedroom in Anna's apartment was Anna's bedroom in Anna's old house, furniture, wallpaper, and all? Us eagle-eyed Vanna fans don't miss a beat.
Till next week, Scoopers, when Willow might decide she's not done with Drew just yet...
