General Hospital Daily Rehash, April 30: How Ric Lansing blows his chance with Sonny

General Hospital's Ric is about to ruin one of the good things he's got going at the moment and it's not going to be pretty. But that green-eyed monster called jealousy has reared its ugly head, which means trouble is most certainly brewing. We saw it start to percolate on the April 30th episode.

Ric wants Sonny all to himself

Ever since Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) waltzed back into town and into Sonny's (Maurice Benard) house, Ric (Rick Hearst) has been in a tizzy. He decided he didn't trust the man and nobody could seem to convince him to give Ethan a chance. Sonny trusts him, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had nothing but glowing words to say about him, but Ric doesn't want him around at all.

It's also very clear that Ric's problem with Ethan is that he is jealous and wants to be Sonny's right-hand man now that Jason is gone. But Ric also doesn't like to get his hands dirty in violent work, so Sonny is going to need someone to take care of that aspect of the business. Ric can't seem to see that it's perfectly okay for Sonny to rely on two different people for two different jobs. Sadly, Ric is about to make a major mistake.

If there's one thing that Sonny values above all else, it's loyalty. It took Ric months to show Sonny that he can trust him, but it might only take one little dinner convo to show him otherwise. Ric now knows that Lucy (Lynn Herring) is only playing Sidwell (Carlo Rota) in an effort to bring him down. She is doing everything she can to shut him out of Deception.

Who wants to bet that is exactly what Ric tells Ava (Maura West), thinking he can help her and help himself at the same time? We are not sure exactly what Ric's angle is and what he hopes to gain, but this is exactly what Sonny doesn't need or want. It is also exactly what Sonny would throw Ric out of his life over.

Ric is so happy to be back in Sonny's good graces, but is about to blow it by being disloyal. One would think that Ric has learned his lesson after all these years.
