General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, January 30: Carly's highly disturbing mini love scene

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

As the week of Port Charles snow ended, General Hospital treated us to a weird montage of love, sadness, resignation, and loneliness. We got the fade when Jason and Britt fell onto the bed, we saw Valentin lonely on his attic cot, we saw Cody sleeping on the stable floor, and we also saw Carly having sex with Jack on her couch when she knew she really, really, really did NOT want to be having sex on her couch. And that was extremely disturbing to watch. Carly had to force herself to do this so Jack would never suspect that she was hiding Valentin upstairs and was working to bring Jack down. In fact, she so dreaded the act that she had to stare at herself in the mirror and tell herself that she could do this. And our hearts broke for her. Watching Carly pull Jack in for a kiss, knowing how badly she didn't want this man touching her, was bad enough. But we were forced to watch them in the act on the couch with a love song in the background as if a woman wasn't having sex with a man, pretty much against her will. GH made several weird choices this week as a blizzard blanketed the town, but forcing the audience to watch Carly and Jack do the deed on her couch was not one of the better ones.
