Monday's episode of General Hospital was a sad one, as Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn's (Amanda Setton) marriage came to an end. GH fans are reacting to the divorce, which was quite a tear-jerker.
To sign or not to sign

In the Dominican Republic, Chase and Brook Lynn pondered whether or not they should give their marriage another chance as they stared at the divorce papers and at each other. Ultimately, they decided to divorce. Facebook fans were hit hard by this turn of events.
"I was hoping they would change their minds about the divorce," one fan said, adding a crying emoji.
Another fan said, "NO! They are the best GH couple since Sonny and Carly."
"I loved Brook Lynn and Chase," another fan said, also adding a crying emoji.
One fan responded, "So sad."
"I hope Brook Lynn and Chase can find their way back to each other some day," another fan commented. "They really did love each other. And they were so good together."
One fan evidently disagreed, replying, "If he really loved her, he would have pushed Willow away and worked on his marriage instead of just throwing it away. Brook Lynn deserves better."
"I didn't think Chase and Brook Lynn would go through with the divorce," another fan said. "They've only been married for two years, but they really loved each other. I know that marriages on soaps don't really last, but I thought Chase and Brook Lynn's would go the distance."
Chase reflected on the end of his marriage

After Chase and Brook Lynn signed the divorce papers, they went their separate ways. A very pensive Chase sat on the beach and took some time to reflect on the end of his once blissful marriage. Facebook fans are calling him out for his blind loyalty to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), saying that they feel it played a part in wrecking his marriage.
"Chase is a weakling!" one fan exclaimed. "He divorced Brook Lynn not because of what she did, but so he could go running back to Willow!"
"Chase never fought for his marriage," another fan stated. "Brook Lynn lied to him and he wanted a divorce, and he never looked back. Good riddance to him."
"She never cheated on him or anything to deserve the way he treated her," one fan commented. "Be strong, girl. You don't need him. There is someone ten times better for you out there. You'll see."
"Not happy with this," one fan remarked. "I really wanted Chase to open his eyes to Willow and stay with Brook Lynn."
"I can't wait until Chase finds out Willow is a snake and he blew his life up for her," another fan said.
"Chase is an idiot!" still another fan said. "He and Willow deserve each other."
"He will go straight to Willow and do what he's been dreaming about," one fan stated.
"I used to like his character, but he's turned into such a gullible loser," another fan remarked.
Brook Lynn was heartbroken

While Chase was lost in thought on the beach, Brook Lynn was on a plane headed back to Port Charles. As she gazed down at her wedding ring, she did some reflecting of her own. Many Facebook fans were heartbroken right along with her.
"That was sad at the end with the flashbacks of Chase and Brook Lynn," one fan said. "I kind of thought they would change their minds, but that did not happen."
"I didn't enjoy the end of that show at all," another fan said. "Very sad."
"Why did they do this to Brook Lynn and Chase?" another fan wondered.
One fan simply wrote, "Heartbreaking," adding a few broken heart emojis.
One disappointed fan said, "The writers ruined one of the best couples on GH. I don't know why they show Chase being sad and just leaving his wedding ring in the sand. The truth about Willow should have come out a long time ago."
Another fan remarked, "They have dragged out most of the story lines, yet end Chase and Brook Lynn's marriage immediately. So disgusted with the writing!"
"Stupid to end their marriage without even trying to fix it," still another fan commented. "He's an idiot, but they were still a great couple and should have tried to save their marriage for each other, not Phoebe. This is just pathetic and wrong."
"Get them back together!" one fan pleaded.
"I hate this!" another fan said. "They were my favorite couple. Why can't they leave some married couples on TV!"
"This made me so sad," one fan lamented. "I just don't know why they didn't go for marriage counseling instead of divorce. If Chase gets with Willow, I hope he finds out all her little dirty deeds. Then I hope he goes to Brook Lynn and apologizes! But I think it will be too late."
We will close with one notable fan reaction that tugs at our heartstrings. That fan said, "When they got married, I was hoping that they would become the next Edward and Lila. A couple that stayed together through everything no matter what."
Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) and his wife, Lila (Anna Lee), were indeed an unforgettable couple. It definitely would have been special if Chase and Brook Lynn had followed in their footsteps.
