General Hospital Fans Clamor for More Cassius Faison

The news that Cassius Faison seems to be on his way out of General Hospital seems to have hit fans hard. While nothing has been confirmed, reports indicate that Cassius may not survive the Sidwell-Cullum catastrophe when this story finally comes to a close.

Currently, Cassius is doing his best trying to keep both Liesl (Kathleen Gati) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) alive, but he's walking a fine line with Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). He has told Cullum that he has every intention of disappearing as soon as the cold fusion prototype is complete, but will he get a chance to do that?

According to Soap Opera Digest, head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten have said that Cassius loses his chance to make a clean escape because he circles back to say goodbye to someone. Could that goodbye be to his mother, whom he had only just met for the first time last fall?

The news that Cassius' days might be numbered has disappointed fans who were just starting to get used to the character after believing that Ryan Paevey's Nathan had been resurrected. As we know now, Cassius is Nathan's twin brother, but the two men had never met before Nathan was killed in 2018. The audience wants more Cassius, not no Cassius.

"Second time was the charm," X user @pbmcdermott wrote, explaining why they like Cassius. "He’s interesting and very much like another fav Julian. Cassius is morally ambiguous."

Other fans see the potential in Cassius and think he can eventually become a hero. "I’ll miss him because he seems to have the potential to become a really good person! It’s there deep down inside of him!!" @ronangelojr said.

Another fan wanted to see what could happen between Cassius and Josslyn, saying: "Please let Cassius Faison stay in Port Charles, so that he can focus on his continuing career as a police detective at the PCPD, his family, his friends, his life, and his future romance with Josslyn Jacks!!"

Other fans don't want to see Cassius with Josslyn at all, with many citing the wide age gap as a reason, but that doesn't mean they don't want to see Cassius. As @TxCatholicMama2 put it: "I would love for Cassius/RP to stay in Port Charles. However, he would need a much better storyline than being a babysitter to the spy kid."
