General Hospital: Is Josslyn Really Taking Down Master Spies Now?

On General Hospital, it’s a big ask to have the fans suspend their disbelief at seeing the legend that is Valentin get taken down by none other than Agent Jacks.

What am I even watching right now? Did you ask that too? General Hospital is asking us to ignore everything we know about Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) just to give Josslyn (Eden McCoy) a "win." It’s hard to watch. This man has spent decades surviving the WSB and dealing with international killers, and you're telling me a college student who just started training managed to best him like he’s some random guy off the street? Get out of here.

It’s not just that Josslyn is young, although that's a huge part of it; it’s that she still looks like she’s practicing her stance in a mirror. Her clunky movements and obvious telegraphing of her next moves would give someone like Valentin time to take his dry cleaning in and scan social media for the comments coming in.

She moves like a rookie because she is a rookie, so having her drop an experienced pro just feels like the writers are ignoring the show's own history for a quick "girl power" moment. I’m not against female empowerment by any stretch, just give it some credibility, please.

Social media isn't buying it either. Over on X, one fan pointed out that Valentin was a mercenary before Josslyn was even born and said the scene makes the entire WSB look like a joke. Another viewer noticed how she holds her gun, saying she looks like she's afraid of it, and there's no way she’s outplaying a Cassadine. On Facebook, a long-time watcher joked that it’s like an intern walking in and firing the CEO on their first day. One fan really hit the nail on the head: "This was a participation trophy takedown." They're not wrong, this is a moment that won't be forgotten, not by the fans of the show or the fans of Valentin.

I can't believe that they want us to believe Jack Brennan saw "potential" in her after she killed Cyrus ( This has got to be a joke right?). Killing someone in self-defense doesn't suddenly make you a super-spy, and it definitely doesn't mean you can outsmart a guy who has been running circles around the world’s most dangerous people for years while Josslyn was still in high school.

The only potential seen in Josslyn is an increase in Advil sales, due to all the headaches she’s causing, to people everywhere, especially Carly (Laura Wright) right now.

If they want her to be the next Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), she needs to actually earn it. Right now, she just looks like a student who is way over her head, and the writing needs to start respecting the veteran characters instead of using them as props for a slogan.
