Ric asked Elizabeth if there were any updates about Cullum's condition. She assumed that he was asking because Jason was the person accused of shooting him. Elizabeth wasn't comfortable discussing anything involving Jason with Ric. She vowed never to aid him in hurting Jason, and once he got Elizabeth to pause for a moment, he explained that he wasn't there to harm him.

Ric said that although he and Jason were always at odds, it was important for Sonny to find Jason. Ric vowed to Sonny that he would do everything in his power to bring his brother's right-hand man back to Port Charles.

Elizabeth initially declined to give Ric any information, but she pulled him aside and told him that Cullum was expected to recover. She knew how important it was for him to keep fixing things with Sonny, so she was happy to help. Ric acknowledged that in the past, he was jealous of Jason and Elizabeth, but he was prepared not to let the past impact their future. Elizabeth planted a kiss on Ric, and he was pleasantly surprised.

Sonny invited Laura in, and she expressed her sympathy for Jason's current situation. She assumed that what was being reported about Jason wasn't the accurate story. However, Laura informed him that since public perception labeled Jason as the shooter of a WSB agent, and she'd been asked to distance herself from both men.

Laura explained that Ezra made the suggestion after learning that Sidwell believed he had Marco killed. Sonny promised that he had nothing to do with Marco's murder. Laura was relieved to hear that Sonny wasn't responsible for it. Sonny believed Laura may be well-suited to throw him and Jason under the bus to keep Sidwell at bay.

Laura wasn't convinced that Jason was the person who pulled the trigger against Cullum. Sonny wasn't surprised that Sidwell blamed him for his son's death. He was sure Sidwell genuinely thought he was associated with the murder. Since Sidwell was acting out of impulse, Sonny needed Laura to publicly denounce him to keep herself safe.

Laura worried that Sonny was more vulnerable without Jason by his side. She offered to contact Robert to find out where Jason was being held. Sonny asked Laura to do something for him involving Ric.

Sonny quickly assured Laura that he didn't tell Ric anything about her specifically. He reminded her that Ric had come through for Rocco and that he needed her to trust him in this instance as well. Ric returned to Sonny's, and he was surprised to see Laura there.

Laura spilled everything to Ric about Sidwell blackmailing her. Ric asked if anyone could place the two of them at the scene, and they confirmed that Nathan spotted her that night. Sonny showing up when he did was the perfect timing, but now Sidwell might escalate things against Sonny and Laura.

Dante visited Cullum's hospital room, but before they discussed the shooting, he wanted to know why he had issued a warrant for Jason's arrest. There was no clear reason for the warrant, and it didn't add up. Dante reminded Cullum that he issued that warrant prior to Jason allegedly shooting him.

Cullum didn't understand why Dante was questioning him, and he wondered what Dante was pursuing. Dante said he and the PCPD absolutely belonged in the investigation. Dante denounced the WSB's decision to whisk Jason away without allowing him the basic human rights.

Dante didn't buy the story of what occurred on the pier. He asked Cullum if he was surprised to hear that Britt named Jason as the shooter. Cullum didn't believe he had anything to offer the story. Dante wasn't satisfied and wanted further context of what happened on the pier.

Dante promised to find a different agent who would be more forthcoming. Cullum through Dante's past in his face, and Dante informed him that he wouldn't let it go until he learned what really happened. As Dante was leaving, he asked Cullum how he knew that Jason and Britt would be at the pier that night.

Dante ran into Elizabeth after what happened, and she asked him what was going on after Jason attacked him. He had a difficult time making sense of what happened. Elizabeth agreed that nothing about Jason's actions that night made any sense. Dante knew there was more to the story with Cullum, and he was convinced there was something to hide.

"Nathan" asked Lulu for an update on Rocco, and Lulu said her maternal instincts had kicked in more than ever. She was terrified that Rocco would spill the truth to someone. Lulu said Rocco understood the stakes, but that didn't change the fact that he struggled with it.

"Nathan," said it was too late to deviate from the story. He promised to do whatever he could to ensure the authorities never uncovered what really happened on the pier. Lulu wasn't worried about Rocco confessing to a stranger. She believed that he'd want to tell Charlotte, Danny, or even Gio.

Lulu wondered whether she had the skills to handle what her son had endured. "Nathan" didn't think Lulu could trust a stranger with Rocco's situation. Lulu floated Kevin as someone she could trust with Rocco's secret.

Laura and Kevin becoming looped into it posed an even greater risk to Rocco's freedom. Lulu racked her brain trying to get a way out of this. She wanted to dig deeper into Cullum, but "Nathan" suggested that Rocco didn't know the entire story, and he worried that they'd learn something they couldn't move past.

Gio offered Rocco free pie at Bobbies, and when he declined, Gio wondered what bothered his brother. Rocco was beside himself because he couldn't do anything to help Danny.

Emma told Felicia that she was ready to bring Anna back to Port Charles. She understood why Emma wanted her grandmother to come home, but she felt it was more complicated than that. Emma considered herself Anna's only shot at getting better.

Anna thought Faison might follow her back to Port Charles, so she was trepidatious about returning. Felicia was adamant that Anna's mind needed healing.

Sidwell assured Lucas that he wanted to bring Marco's killer to justice. He recalled how much Lucas loved Marco, and he hoped to lean on Lucas as a pillar of support. Sidwell formally requested that Lucas remain living at Wyndemere.

After everything that had transpired, Lucas wanted to feel close to Marco. Sidwell told Lucas that, since Wyndemere was where they had spent so much time together, he wanted him to stay. Ultimately, Lucas agreed to remain at Wyndemere, much to Sidwell's relief.

Pascal confronted Lucas about remaining at Wyndemere. Lucas asked Pascal what was wrong with him, and Pascal threw an entire tray across the room. He screamed, "I'm grieving you, idiot, and it's because of you."

Brad rushed to Britt's hospital office, and he was thrilled that she was in one piece. He told her that what happened was for the best, and it set her off so much that she slapped him in the face. Britt informed him that everything went wrong; once she got to the pier, it went off the rails.

Britt explained that Jason ordered her to name Cullum as the shooter. Even Brad didn't think that made any sense. There was a missing piece of the puzzle, and it was clear to the two of them that Jason was lying to protect someone.

Brad was puzzled by Britt's request for his help after attacking him. She apologized for putting her hands on him, and she agreed that Jason was covering for someone. Britt reminded Brad that Jason bailed him out of jail, so he owed him.

Jason put Britt first this time. It wasn't Carly. It wasn't Sonny. However, this time, putting Britt first, cost him his freedom and his time with his son. Britt told Brad that Cullum was the villain in the story, and unfortunately, he survived the shooting. She had one chance to take him out for good, but she was interrupted.

Brit was petrified that Cullum was alive and able to strike back against her. Brad told Britt to call him next time she planned to kill someone, so he could help her hide the body. They went to the pier and tried to come up with a name of someone Jason could've protected that night.

They quickly ruled out Carly and Sonny. Britt floated the idea of Danny because Jason would do anything for him. Brad questioned whether Britt looking into this was going directly against Jason's wishes for her.

Toward the end, Cassius visited Cullum in his hospital room, and he claimed to have no idea who murdered Marco. However, he did confirm that there was no way Jason shot him in the back, since he was staring Jason in the eyes when it happened. It was evident that Cullum knew Cassius' true idenity all along.
